I love the fact that a watch like that actually gets wear.
And some tear, too.

Actually, that looks pretty damn good considering you don't baby your watches.

Yeah. Rough. I think I'd have to polish them considering the money that thing is worth.

Looks good! Whilst I accept that it takes all sorts, I can't get really get my head around people wanting to keep sports watches in pristine condition. It's fitting and natural that one's daily wearer should be marked by our bumps and thumps and the passage of time. We certainly are.

Doc, it does still look fantastic for four years on your wrist with what you put it through wrenching on race cars and whatnot. But is that really a fair test? Now, let your wifey wear it for one week and post some pics, LOL!

The Platona is my grail watch. I'm on the list for a ceramic Daytona at my AD, but this is making me want to just say "Screw it," and save for a few years and just get the Platona. If I had a Platona, I'd want it to have exactly that kind of character after owning it for a while.

Ouch...

I must be special, none of my watches has ever looked like that, don't baby them, but certainly treat them with care.

I'm the type that wants to keep them clean since I flip a lot, but recognize others don't care as much and are fine with it.

The ceramic dial is holding up pretty good. Wish they would put this in WG model. The current one is soft as butter.

That's a good question that Tom can address as have 2 WG Rolexes (Smurf and BLRO) in addition to the platinum Daytona. A photo shoot of all 3 side by side to show bracelet / case conditions is what we need!

So it looks like new again. With platinum you don't lose material when polishing you just move metal around so you can polish it over and over again and not lose material like SS or gold.
