Had the same experience with the YG green dial daytona I got a week ago. However, I didn't try it on in person or see one before purchasing, but I was sure I'd love it. I just didn't love/obsess over it like I have with all my others. Might grow on me though, the green just looks black unless the lighting is perfect.

Feel for ya I am just bothered now because, I'm unhappy so far, even after seeing it in person. Just not in the 'real world'
I hope it grows on you.

I liked the BLRO the least under natural sunlight. I just look at it less under direct sun and admire it more at other times!

I was definitely underwhelmed by Platinum DD 40 with ice blue dial. Ended up not buying it.

Yeah, real life look can be different than anticipation built up from looking online.

The same thing happened to me. Quickly traded out and moved on. It's a great piece if you like the tint.

I'm a bit underwhelmed by the bezel colors on the new BLRO I just purchased.

Showed brighter and deeper when I saw it at the AD.

It is a beautiful WG piece, but I'm just not wowed by the bezel colors.

Anyone else have this underwhelmed feeling after a couple days? On any model?

men.

Same here - the bez colours just appear dull to me, whereas the BLNR just pops

Not commenting on this piece here, but my general opinion on AD lighting ... I hate it! The spotlights make everything ultra shiny and not in a good way.

I generally ask if I can walk the watch over to the window to see how it looks in more natural lighting

I agree, had I not been in the middle of the mall, on the upstairs level, I would've done the same thing. Live and learn!

For a brief time I toyed with the idea of buying a BLNR or LN and swapping the BLRO bevel out. I love the idea of a stealth WG GMT. But I've since come to appreciate the BLRO.

Yes, online pics look great, as does the watch under AD lighting.

I've tried on a BLRO once I also was underwhelmed. The colors don't pop like I would want them to and where the red and blue meet seemed a bit blurred and wasn't a sharp cutoff.

I personally like the BLRO the way it is ...
I don't think Rolex tried to recreate the
Original Pepsi GMT in a white gold reference ...
The original steel bezel inserts on a GMT
would never change to different shades of that
color under different lighting ... All depends on
what you really want ... The old or the new ....

I really loved it Richard!! Under certain lighting it always came to life. When taking wrist shots though, I did always use filters to make it pop more.

Thanks Steve. I really wanted more "life" in the bezel no matter the light, and having to use filters to give it life, in pics, is kind of my point. You had it at one point? Or still do?

I had one Richard!! When I broke the insert it took the RSC three attempts to install a new one before it was fixed. This process was 6 months and I sold the watch as I was irritated.

This was the first time I can say I felt disappointed with Rolex (not the service centre but with the headquarters in Geneva) for taking their sweet time in sending a replacement insert.

Suggest in the future they get a FedEx account and use it.

But this piece did get a tremendous amount of compliments whenever I wore it. People in my office love the watch!!!

Personally, I think the colors are great. Just relax and enjoy it. It's all subjective anyway.

Rich, first off congrats on the BLRO and I'm sorry you're not lovin' it. Give it some time, it really does grow on you. I think it's a pretty well balanced watch. By that I mean the WG, in and of itself, is subdued when compared to YG. So the bezel colors, also being subdued, are a great match for each other.

Now the complete opposite is the YG/Sunburst SubC. Bright gold and a bright bezel.

Anyway, that's my take on it. Just add it to your rotation, wear it and see how it goes. I'm sure you won't have any problem flipping it should the situation arise.

Here's a shot of mine, just for the hell of it.

gotta admit the colors of this bezel where not meant to be compared to older models. this is a new and different color scheme so no real apples to apples comparison

that said, it is a stunning color combo no matter what the lighting...

It's a beautiful watch. But if you're not 100% happy and don't feel you'll get there IMO that's too much watch to hold on to.

I do think it's interesting that a lot of people like the older aluminum bezel because of how sharp the colors were while others like them because they would fade over time. Seems the new is sharp under artificial lighting and faded under natural light. Possibly a combination of what people liked most about the old.

I have to agree about the colours. The ads make the red really pop but its quite dull under natual light.
I hope you will grow to like it. WOuld be a bad hit if you decide to flip

Agree.... many folks seem to have fallen for the lighter/ever changing, Blueish and redish of the ceramic. Hasn't hit me like that and yes, not apples to apples. The SS bezels were sharp Blue and sharp red, no matter the lightning.

Yes , agree! A hit...yes, a lesson for sure.

For those who haven't seen it in person ...I'll use Mike's (Kilyung) pics to illustrate the point again... the 1st one truly represents the color a majority of the time. The 2nd, not much, but most always in pics. I had to LOOK hard to find what I think best represented the color, most of the time. IMHO.. THANKS MIKE

I had it down to smurf vs. blro.

Well when I saw the blro in person, I was underwhelmed with it. The colors were off. Smurf it was. But for some reason it stuck with me and I couldn't get it out of my head. I then spent a huge amount of time trying to get as many pictures/videos of both before I decided on the BLRO.

I liked it when I got it but quickly grew to love it. I love the bezel. I love all the color shifts. Can the blue/red look dull? Absolutely. But then there are all these color changes- for example the red can go from a dull red, to a washed-out pink, to a original blro red. It's never the same and I love it- it keeps it interesting. It's part of the reason why I like WG- it can go from looking like a SS watch, to a hint of yg, to looking like YG briefly. It's the perfect daily PM watch for me. Have worn the blro daily for a bit over a year and no regrets.

I'd say try it out for a week or so, if it's not for you move on.
At that price point lots of drop dead gorgeous choices and there is no reason not to be 100% head over heels in love with your purchase.
