Terry has seen more Rolex cases and internals than I'll ever see in my lifetime and if my watch didn't raise serious red flags with him that's good enough for me. For what it's worth here's everything my watch came with.

Thank you again for your opinion and I sincerely appreciate the link to the watch DavidSW has for sale, it does look very nice!

You would rather have 'paperwork' and an over polished watch than one in great condition without 'paperwork' that is outdated and meaningless?

investigate a piece before you buy it.

Never after you did.

You should leave this thread and never come back to it.

Relax.. and enjoy your watch !

Am I the only one who doesn't think this Sub should be retired just yet? Simply because it's had a hard life, crown side polished repeatedly? It's a Sub - Many have actually been worn. The OP should realise that members here are experienced buyers and collectors and nothing short of unpolished gently worn around the office will do. It's still a Sub and the average buyer wouldn't even notice as evidenced here. Not the end of the world. He has a Rolex he can wear carefree.

Return or as GB Man suggested try to sell on craigslist and take a small loss. Good luck!

You're not the only one. I'd agree and say there's nothing wrong with keeping it and just wearing the heck out of it to enjoy. Every time a watch has been polished TRF has the funniest overreactions.......yes obviously the watch has been polished to some extent but most people looking at the watch (even WIS) won't notice a damn thing until you get up close and personal....This isn't some museum piece the OP wants to keep in a safe to not see daylight while gathering patina magic.
Kudos OP on keeping the watch, enjoy and wear with pride.....also to all the people saying he could have had a better deal....I can almost say with certainty 99% of the watches we all purchase could have had a better deal in some way if you look hard enough....but the key is if YOU think the watch was worth the $$...in this case I think the OP was ok with it as well.

I think OP got a fair watch for a fair price. Sure he could have held out for a better deal but he'd probably still be wearing a Junker this time next year and missed out on a years enjoyment. I really like his outlook.
