1) I vote speedy dark side of the moon if you really want an omega and a chrono. Personally I would prefer a zenith el primero 410 since it has the day/date/month + a chrono, a jlc annual calendar, or a vc chrono

2) BLNR would be a wonderful addition if you got it for the purpose of the gmt + simply adding a piece to your rolex collection. sure it might be tad redundant because of the explorer II you already own, but the blue/black bezel version is the first rolex has made for the gmt line. I would prefer it honestly over the black ceraimic sub. Another option is to sell the sub if you are okay parting with it and getting the blnr.

I owned the Speedy before but sold it because the size is a tad bigger than my taste. Now I'm a proud owner of the GMT2c but it's the LN not the Batman

Comparing the Speedmaster and the BLNR is not apples to apple. Based on price and functions. I say get the Speedy and wait for Basel. Might be something that you like and if not there might be something that would motivate the BLNR owners to sell and we could see an adjustment in the market.

You know you'll end up eventually getting both. Get the Speedy now.

Wait to see what comes out of Basel. There may be something you like better than the BLNR (maybe a Coke).

BLNR is a no brainer in this dilemma. Speedy is cool but Rolex is King

If it were my collection, and I were faced with waiting, I'd probably sell the two Omegas to get the BLNR, then rejoice in having three really awesome Rolexes. And I say that as someone who generally likes Omegas.

I would say go with the Speedy due to your collection. If you really want the BLNR I would say sell the Explorer 2 to fund it. Maybe I just don't like the Explorer 2 but I think the BLNR and it are redundant function wise other than the nice white dial option.

The Speedy is timeless so if you like them go with it. For the BLNR it is a great watch but who knows what Rolex will do to the GMTc lineup in the near future.

Thanks for all the responses. Seems like there is lots of love for both watches here. I plan to sell the seamaster to speed up the funding for the BLNR and then add the speedy down the road.

Good decision. I have both BLNR and Speedy (Movement 1863). BLNR occupies most of my wrist time and Speedy is my only Omega which I love to play with.

Good choice. I know a lot of people see redundancy between the Exp. II and the BLNR, which may be true in terms of functionality, but they are very different in terms of style. Besides, all watches are redundant in some aspect or other, insofar as all of them tell time, just like all cars will get you from point A to point B. The point isn't getting there; it's how you get there. Enjoy the ride.

Speedmaster or BLNR

Speedy for me if you have use for the chrono function.

I'm not a fan of GMTs. Clutters the dial and the bezel is too busy. I have no problem setting my sub to whatever time zone I travel to and use my iPhone to check the time back home!

But that's just me.

Might be biased here. I have speedy and Exp II Black Dial. The speedy is for my daily wear and Exp II for my foreign trip abroad (which is quite often). Although I like BLNR very much, i don't think i need another GMT function watches.

Good choice.

While they're both excellent watches (get the hesalite speedy, if you can handle the plastic), the BLNR will be gone in a couple/few years, whereas the speedy will likely be in production for decades.

(But definitely wait to see what pops at Basel.)

Purely speaking in terms of rounding off your collection then Speedy is really the only answer here. BLNR, whilst being one of the greats, would seem somewhat redundant given what you already have.

If you asked about Pepsi on jubilee I'd probably say that one though for the splash of colour.

I'd probably suggest a tritium dial speedy over the newer ones. A nicely aged model with a variety of straps would go really nicely with this collection.

flip the constellation and Aqua Terra and pick up a used speedy (the drop from retail on these is insane). Then get on the list for the BLNR, if that is what you still want. You could maybe put the polar towards the cost if you don't want to double up.

A speedy pro, Sub and BLNR would be very nice collection.

Hackett Watches were (prob still are) selling a new speedy at £3k and there's a note that overseas buyers can get the VAT back too. That makes for an incredibly appealing offer.

If your thinking of a Speedy why not try to get yourself the 50th anniversary model? Same price as the BLNR. Both are fantastic watches. I just got the BLNR and love it. Also purchased the 50th and waiting for it to come in. But I'm into the moon thing, love the history and story behind the moon watches. Have a 66 CB Speedy and figured the 50th would be a great partner to it. I don't think you can make a mistake whichever way you go. The tough part of the decision is you can't try on the BLNR or the 50th. You would know instantly which sings to you the loudest if you could put them all on your wrist.
