I prefer the batons over the romans. If this going to be your only Rolex for a while you might want to spend some time trying on other pieces. I'm not saying this is a bad choice but it's not quite as versatile as something with a white or black dial. I think you could easily pull of a sub date at the office. Or a white dial DJ.

Love romans on a DJ. I like the formal quality of the romans as the DJ seems more dressy.

For the 36 I prefer the Romans to be honest. Smaller watch, the Romans give it a dressier look.

Romans, I feel it makes the watch more exclusive.

I hear you and I definitely think the blue dial is beautiful. That's the thing with Rolex there are so many good choices it's all a matter of opinion. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It's clearly a personal preference(just look at the variation in replies). My preference is the romans... on that blue they look great. The sticks, oops I mean batons, look good but not as refined as those roman numerals do.

Absolutely loving the options on here! Seems its all divided, I'll go in again tommorow to check them both out and take a wrist pic too with them so you guys can see.
Also I heard that one can actually change the dials at servicing or if I acquired another dial then I would be able to fit it in by taking it to a watch shop. Anyone know if this is true? |

So went into the shop and tried them on! Love them both - what do you guys think? - I'm leaning towards the Romans as it is cheaper but also because I was told I can get the dial changed for £20 quid and buy the batons dial for £200!

Baton every time! More symmetrical, love lume and more classy / minimalist dial.

I prefer the stick dial with the fluted bezel or else it looks too busy to me. I like romans better with a smooth bezel.

My first Rolex had sticks/batons, but have grown to prefer Romans, especially with the blue dial. Just picked-up this.
