I think from research I have read 10%/15% is fairly common discount to get?
Also would there be much discount available on the GMT BLNR or the Submariner LV models?
Thanks in advance
Are there other EU countries in which SS sports models are available from which UK cits can bring back Rolexes without any taxes?

Only outside of EU can we get taxes back, Switzerland is one nearby example

I also wouldn't pay list for an SS Milgauss, SS YM Rhodium, SS EXP2. I'd say if you found an independent AD you could squeeze a bit off on any of these in stock although it may take a bit of shopping around.

Watches that they'll be firm on will be :

SS DaytonaC
Deepsea D-Blue
BLNR
LV
Sub ND and Sate SS

SS GMT, Exp1, new Air-King, black Deepsea I think they'll be pretty firm on but you may get a token gesture if you bargain hard.

Depends on negotiation skills.
Personally I wouldn't pay retail price for a boring gmt blnr. I had the chance to choose between explorer 2 and gmt

If a EU resident buys in the EU he/she pays the duty due in that country and are unable to claim anything back when leaving said country but likewise when returning home there is no duty due in their country of residence.

So being in the UK we can buy anywhere in the EU and return home with no duty to claim back or pay out (currently)

Where as if we buy outside the EU we can claim the duty back on leaving but likewise duty is due to be paid when we bring it back into the UK (20%)

Obviously this makes it mostly not worthwhile for us in the UK where as a US resident can come here and claim the duty back but on thier return home they have to pay the US duty but it's a lot less then ours so given current exchange and this it make us a more attractive place to buy.

Hope that all makes sense

I'm picking up a SS Green Sub this coming week. My AD that I've worked with previously is giving me 12% off and throwing in a link for me. Also paying cash which he is not charging me sales tax. I feel pretty good about the deal. Sorry to hear none are working with you guys over seas!

No, I'm not asking about getting taxes back. I was just asking (and I see the answer is "yes") if you buy a Rolex anywhere in the EU can you bring it back to UK without paying any import duties.

The SubC date is 7468 euros in the UK. Elsewhere in the EU it is 7650-8050 euros. So, isn't it possible to source a SubC date in Europe and purchase it for just several hundred dollars more than in the UK? I know at least one of the UK grays gets its SS sports Rolex from Italy.

Well I guess that's why we all like different watches...

EXP2 however tend to sit around AD windows and are not really popular or desireable, whereas in the UK BLNR is desireable. This may be different in your country of origin.

If the EXP2 floats your boat, good on ya, variety is the spice of life

Sorry my mistake, yes we could go to say Italy and purchase the watch for their Euro price and bring it back home with no extra taxes as noted above. The biggest problem is that the bank will normally charge some quite significant transaction fees and unpreferential fx rates, so it will end up being notably more expensive than the initial numbers would suggest - after flights and other costs as well it would be almost certainly cheaper just to buy from a grey dealer in the U.K, hence it seems greys are doing a roaring trade in recent times.

UK ADs are cheaper than greys now on popular models and you don't get the VAT back, so ADs are far more appealing but much harder to source from esp for foreigners now.

How can someone get discount when buying a Rolex? Do I just simply ask for that or how? Haven't ever tried to haggle to get a discount on watches or jewellery.

I've asked twice at the same local AD. They politely said No to anything SS ... we really don't have to.

Which is 100% true.
