See I don't like the idea that you have to play with lighting to make it actually look good. It should just look good always. This is why I'm getting the 44mm RG ROO. It looks good night, day, bad light, good light.....lol.

For the 15202 to look like other AP's the light has to hit it juuuuust right which is stupid.

But I don't care. The thinness and the fact at an AD price, I could sell it instantaneously without losing a penny makes it attractive enough that I don't care honestly if it only sparkles/glimmers in particular light.

At full price, I think I rather just get the ROC (which is far cheaper) when the in house movement gets put it in hopefully this year or next since it's finished now.

as he described how he goes down the list to contact each name, it was made clear that they don't give much time to those names to make the purchase once contacted. so much so, if they call and u don't pick, they have the discretion to just quickly move onto the next name.

whilst that may sound rather incredulous, he also did explain that they get 3-4 jumbos per month. so I'd imagine there's plenty to go round, and the so-called wait is not so much a big wait at all.

that's my take.
I was told something similar. The salesman at the boutique said he could easily get another. He told me the one they had was paid for and on hold till like July when the buyer was picking it up. But he said they could get another within a couple weeks.

The whole like 20 to the US rumor I think is just for AD's. The boutique is getting these all day and night.

Looking at the bracelet, I'm guessing it's a 202??
Either way, congrats!

I also had the opportunity to get the 202 but went with the 400 as I want it to be a worry free, daily wearer.
Somehow I felt at that time that the 202 is more of a "special occasion" kind of watch.

Here's mine.

ta-da...

once i saw it side-by-side with the 15400 at the boutique, i was fairly settled with the jumbo.
the 15400 is a superb watch...i'm sure i would've been equally (if not very close) happy with it. as i commented originally, i think the dial on the 15400 is far more spectacular than the jumbo...it's just simply alive.

however, the jumbo falls closer to where my taste has now evolved.
and now that it's with me, i couldn't be happier with my choice.
on the wrist, it just feels right.

plus, i was originally trying to sell off my ROO (to be replaced by the jumbo)...but now it seems sorta justified keeping around, as the two are so far different from each other within the royal oak family.
i think they're a good complement. we'll see over time if the ROO gets enough wrist time now that the jumbo is around.

sized the bracelet at the boutique last week...fit is perfect.
happy happy.

I have a problem with first 2, can imagine having to set the date through 15-20 days and I like a second hand, but still think the 202 is the most beautiful of all RO's

@Zack777es: wonder how you can guess from seeing a part of bracelet that it's a 202, can't see tbh, but I think the OP chose the Jumbo as well

Bezel on the sneak peak shot looks relatively slim and flush with the case. I think it's a jumbo!

There are a lot of things I said i would not accept when i started collecting. For example-- had to have hacking seconds hand, quick date etc.. However over time the only thing that I have stood by is the seconds hand. I have to have one or at least a chronograph (not necessarily an independent seconds hand). I do not think I will ever get over that one..

I hear you on that. I too make up all sorts of rules only to break them on my next watch purchase lol

I do like being able to at least gauge the passage of say 90 seconds for when I'm searing steaks etc.

In the U.K. the 202 is now boutique only, my AD previously received 1 per year.

I handled the 202 closely and a number of times before finally deciding my blue 400.
The bracelets chamfer looks "slimmer" or just a lucky guess

I know AP lists a London boutique but was under the impression it's a service centre only and no sales, is this still the case?

No as far as I'm aware the service centre is now the boutique, as its upstairs in an office building it may still be by appointment only though.

202 is classic but too small and slightly overrated. For that price, I rather buy 5711.

400 is bang for buck!

Don’t forget the Royal Oak was the original design, Patek was just jumping on the bandwagon with the Nautilus. I give more credit to AP for that.

15202 hands down. I wanted my 228206 to be my new everyday, but the 15202 keeps creeping up the wrist and kicking it off.
