That's actually another thing I've noticed. The coming of age sons of frugal dads... aren't super frugal themselves. Speaking for myself and my circle of similarly aged buddies. The one guy who had a big spending (house in BH, Ferraris, solid gold sports Rolex in the 70's) dad is by far the most frugal of all of us, despite being super well to do himself.

Bingo! I'm a late 30s son of an accountant who wore a cheap casio, drove a Chevette, and certainly never wore an expensive suit or shoes.

I'm the opposite, for better or worse. Long hair, tattoos, nice watches, German cars, only wear a suit for weddings/funerals, etc. My dad is such a good man that I'm sure it's for the worse. I can't believe I'm still rebelling against my "cheap and nerdy" dad.

I think I may go throw on my old F-91W for a little while in honor of my dad.
