It's the same exact thing that EVERY seller of the Daytona C is doing. Good for him if he gets it.

True but that price is laughable.

I agree. The price is what it is until the supply can catch up. The demand is HUGE for this watch. No point in him keeping the price low just to move it faster.

I think some of you are confusing business w/ charity. If DavidSW for some crazy reason took the moral high ground and sold this thing to someone at MSRP present day, I can almost guarantee you there would be serious consideration to flip it, money in bank. Porsche 991 GT3RS guys do it on the regular, but now that the 991.2 GT3 with the motorsport heart is being released, it's curtains for speculators.

DavidSW has done me right in my 3 transactions with him. The moment he does me wrong, you bet I'll let the truth be known. Business is business and it goes both ways.

With all that said, this SD43 hype will die down as I just don't see Rolex controlling supply as tightly as the Daytonas. It's a SubC that's a cross-fit member.

Business is business.. If someone REALLY wants an SD43, DavidSW is simply there to make it happen for them. I personally hope he DOES seal that deal... Could make some wiggle room for another post in the BAR!!

David is first class like the rest of the top trusted sellers on this forum. They need to make a living too so they need to be thrown a bone once in awhile. I hope it sell for him.

That's a lot but it's all about supply and demand, and what's hot for the moment. I like David and will deal with him whenever possible...This price is just what it is...buy it or move on.

I don't blame David for putting it up at that price. I'm surprised it's not higher.

.

Nobody have to blame David for this , me neither ...

... but I really hope nobody will be mad enough to pay such a price for a currently available watch. There's no advantage for anybody to encourage such a speculation.

Wow that is very high! I'll wait until the supply catches up, this time next year should be at normal prices.

I don't really think that's it. He doesn't sell these high to subsidize selling other stuff low. He tries to make what he can on each piece. My sense is that he has a minimum profit he is looking for in each watch, and if he can make more than that quickly, great. If not, not. But it isn't like if he sells this one high, he's going to take an unnecessary loss on the next one to "give back to TRF."

I've dealt with him once, on my current watch, and he was great to deal with, found my watch, and over delivered (it ended up being two months old rather than the six months that he thought it was). I think he has a very good business model and is very fair with people and so is very successful.

I have purchased from David SW in the past and he is really great. If a) I had the money and b) my wide would not divorce me, I would consider buying it!

One honest question, is the warranty still valid if not purchased at an AD?

For sure. Both times I bought new Rolexes from him, my name was on the w-card effective month or a month pre-dated from purchased.

Pricing will settle down as supply gets ramped up. David is in business and it's just a matter of his business is able to source pieces on the front end of production which gives his business great value. In this particular scenario someone will want one to have it before anyone else and will pay the price for it, David's business is servicing that consumer.

Seems to be a very well respected seller, just testing the market to see what he can get for the first one.

Basic economics. Low supply + high demand = premium price
