Buy Daytona, give it to a lady friend and then get SD43 for yourself! :-)

At retail...the Daytona! I know it is not about money and value retention but buying at retail one has to look at that a bit. The SD will likely be very available fairly soon on the pre-owned market at reasonable prices. I don't see how the Daytona C can be reasonable on the pre-owned market as pre-owned versions will be sandwiched between and contending with very small margins between high priced previous gen Daytona's, Daytona C's at retail if they can be had and hyper-priced new Daytona C's.

I'll almost always pick a diver over a chronograph...and even though the D500 is one hot chrono, I will here as well.
Plus, I think with your size wrists, the SD will wear better. |

Both, actually as of today I NOW have both.
FYI - SD43 is fine on my small 6.3 inch wrists. It's great to take to the gym, so at least something is pumped up...LOL. |

If I had to choose between the two it would be the SD.

Buy both and then make you mind up. You surely have the chance to sell any of these with a nice margin.

SD 43! Daytona is really popular and great to look at but just not a fan on the wrist. My wrists are a little smaller than yours and the Daytona wears small IMO and legibility is not great.

I got mine today. It's an amazing watch and has some wrist presence but no where as much as i had feared. It's definitely not too big, even for small 6.5 wrists. If you can, get both as they polar opposites and some variety is good.

The purists love the Daytona, history and scarcity make it the choice for many
But as an all purpose watch, hard to go past the SD50, and would by pick - iconic model, cyclops and homage to the original with the red writing |

I vote Daytona.
If I was ever to pick one up, I would probably go white dial. Then I see the black one and I think I would be more than happy to have the black. I guess the answer is to have both. I tried on the SD43, wears surprisingly well for the size. You can't really go wrong with either and you seem to have the wrist size to pull off either. |

Personnally I went for the SD43. It ticks all the boxes I look for in a luxury sports watch.
The Daytona in any iteration never did it for me. I can't quite put my finger on it. Is it the smallish case size for a chrono, the tiny sub-dial hands? Not sure but it doesn't deliver the wrist presence I look for in sports Rolex. Maybe if they were to also make it in 42mm on top of the 40mm and perhaps do it a bit more readable. I'm considering a Speedy Racing over the Daytona further down the road. |

Yeah fleetlord! It's your time! Either watch would certainly breathe some much-needed life into your collection! I vote SD43!
