We all have second thoughts after a purchase, the sooner you mitigate this issue the better.

I once bought an expensive sports car and after driving it for a week realized that I didn't like the color. I went to the dealer and asked if I could return the car for a dfferent color. I put less than 100 miles on the car. The dealer not only took the car back, he returned some of my money beacuse the car I chose was less equipped that the one I originally purchased.
That's a great business (IMO)

That is why I refuse to buy a Rolex watch RETAIL. Only watch I would buy retail if I could find one would be a Daytona. I can flip my 114060 or BLNR today for basically same price I bought it pre-owned. The 114060 was mint used for 5 months and the BLNR was basically new used for 1 month. If you are having buyers remorse return it. Move on with your life till next time.

There is no difference, they are both bad ideas.

I agree. Anything that you finance and depreciates is not good. Finance a house that goes up in value now that's

It's not that clear cut. If you can get the same deal on the thing you're financing as you would have had you paid cash, getting 0% financing is a great way to go. The key is to remember that you've got to pay it off.

It's kinda like this - many of us would never balk at using a credit card that gets points for purchases as long as 1) you don't buy anything you wouldn't normally buy and 2) you pay off the bill in full every month.

You obviously wanted it. Keep it and enjoy it. It's a beautiful and rugged and mechanically elegant watch. Buying a Rolex for anything other than enjoying daily is silly in my opinion. So why even consider the resale value?

Yes with 0% percent finance monthly payments is better. I rather have my cash in my pockets with 0% financing. I use 1 credit card like that. Charge everything groceries, shopping, restaurants, bar hopping, tolls, etc. I win reward points. When that bill comes end of the month I pay if off completely. No interest.

I say keep it since time is on your side with value. The initial hit will be the largest, but a Sub won't go much lower than that over the years.

A guy with 60 posts? You're going to struggle to find a buyer unless it's below market value.

I want to clarify the nature of my post. I can certainly afford this watch - the financing is an election with regard to the cash position I prefer as a self-employed man. I can also afford a $2,000 hit if I use the watch for a while and subsequently don't like it. I'm not upset that I paid retail - and the mortgage still gets paid.

I think my trepidation is that I've never had a rotation of watches and that this is so different from anything I've ever owned. I have a DD that I really enjoy and I'm wondering if the Sub will detract from my enjoyment in wearing that. I also have never owned an all-steel watch - my look tends to be yellow gold because it works well with my skin tone, so this is new to me. That's really it. I'm not having some sort of a meltdown - just came to nice people on this forum to help make a decision. I will play around this afternoon and let you all know what I ultimately decide. Thanks to all!
I have a humble Datejust and a showy Daytona. The Datejust makes me appreciate the Daytona even more. I know you've said you're returning it, but maybe a watch you like less could have helped you to appreciate your favourite watch.

If you don't mind the depreciation, why not wear it and see how you feel about it a few days later? I had the same feeling with I got my blnr at the dealer but it grew on me. Now it's my go to sports watch.

Nail on head Mystro,,,,
looking at a $7-$10 Rolex is very different to actually putting your money down and wearing it,,,,
Sounds like a " what if " issue and reality has hit,,,,,
" watch out for what you wish for " ,,,,
best of luck op,,,,,jay

Exactly this. With prices from DavidSW or SohAIS I will never buy a Rolex watch retail at AD.

You realize millions of people finance things everyday that are liabilities?
Its the American way. I don't enjoy financing anything but I and most don't have 30k to buy a car. Good for you if your a 1%er
