the macro on AP's website does look much better than the other photos i have seen. I do like it in this pic. You can see a lot of depth in the dial.

I'm joking a little bit with Hublot comments... no matter I dislike cutted bezel, I have no doubt that the movement and finishing will be perfect, but also lots of Hublot Ferrari collaboration similarity in this one...
If AP came first with this one, and then Hublot released the Ferrari tourbillon we will see a ton of "Hublot copy/pasted AP design again" comments all over again... |

I don't mind the new bezel, but I think the cutout should have served to reveal more of the mechanisms rather than just as an aesthetic choice. |

Not impressed. My spare $300k would have to go to the Tesla Roadster

AP website doesn’t explicitly say the new beast will be limited, whereas with the two tourbs it says limited to 50. I’m thinking maybe it will just be boutique only and low production ala the 15202.
Anyone feeling froggy?

Interesting. I was in the NY boutique today and they said February was the time frame and that it would be limited but I didn’t get a specific number. I think they will be making more than 50 as the website does not list it as limited edition.

"What to say about this Royal Oak Offshore re-edition? Well, in short, Audemars Piguet nailed it… Simple as that. The brand didn’t fall into the trap of modernization or evolution. Yes, the movement and the clasp are different, but who can complain about that. In terms of style, it gives echo to what is nowadays an icon, what used to be a disruptive watch, which ended in being a trendsetter. And to be honest, it looks super cool. Price will be CHF 25,000 and it is a non-limited edition." From monochrome-watches https://monochrome-watches.com/audem...-review-price/

Sounds a bit far fetched but both special edition Ti/Pt watches (SE ROC and SE 33mm quartz) were not listed as LE's at launch per AP's website. Hodinkee's article at launch specifically stated the SE ROC was not limited but just a boutique exclusive. Nearly a year later AP's website changed and said it was a LE of 500. https://www.hodinkee.com/articles/au...um-introducing Initial and then updated AP description a almost a year later.... |

i agree. Im just speculating we may not know for sure how many there will be until much later. It would be nice to know how hard it is going to be to get in advance, but im not complaining. I know I want one. I dont care if its an edition of 50 or 1000 and would probably prefer it be a larger edition so i can actually find one.

I hear you - the more the better as I think demand will be high for such a great looking classic ROO, especially if it’s got the newer movement, improved clasp and hopefully ceramic crown & pushers. I really fancy one too Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Can’t comment on the clasp as I don’t know much about the evolution of it on the 42 ROO, but the crown and pushers are sadly still rubber clad (would of been great in blue ceramic)

News Just in... AP 2018 25th anniversary ROOs

Yes guys the watch is exactly as released in 93 except for some minor font changes and updated clasp and movement. Also has a solid case back. This will be more of a niche WIS piece.

Rubber pushers are not ideal, but for a re-issue it is fine IMO |

I generally agree about the display caseback but hey I’ve seen plenty of 3120s. I would appreciate it more if they keep production similar to the jumbo. Not sure what demand will be like. Are there ROO purists? For me it all comes down to getting a nice blue petite tappisserie dial. I lamented the move away from the pantograph dial on the diver. To me this feature alongside the expertly polished case is the calling card of an RO.

There is a pic of one of the first 100 Offshores ever with no Offshore engraving on back, other with Offshore engraving and one of 20 limited pieces with clear caseback... don't exactly know if this one have ceramic pushers... |
