Well, I wear a men's Rolex (and Breitling) because I like the way they look on me, simple as that. The Rolex women's models are WAY too small for me and too dainty looking. I like a young and funky look. Also, Rolex doesn't make any sport models for women (besides the YM). There's a lot to be said about a woman who can pull off a 40mm and look darn sexy doing it! |

^^^^ Yay!! It worked, pics came out massive though, they come out as thumbnails on the other forum then you click on them and can make them bigger....at least they are there though! I put a pic of my GMT 2 up to,that has to have three links out to fit me also, but with a watchmakers screwdriver its no big deal.

Gotta agree, they just go together like watch-on-wrist, so to speak. Looks fantastic. And who made the rule that women's watches should be small anyway? Certainly doesn't make much sense, when bigger look better.

Jen, Karis, Lisa, JJ... and the rest, all of you are SO right! A woman wears it because A: She likes it. Or B: She likes it or maybe... C: She likes it. It's not a sexual come on or a statement to men that she is a power-chick or... or anything else.
That being said, and not tying to eat my own words, but I find it EXTREMELY attractive when a woman wears a men's Rolex. It says to me she makes up her own mind, maybe a tad bit unconventional, but doesn't adhere to what the industry states she must wear (i.e. a "Ladies" style watch). To the laides on TRF, if you wear men's model Rolex's, YOU GO GIRLS!!! |

I think many women (not all) wear a large man's Rolex for the same reason that they wear those big purses covered in logos, or sun glasses with huge logos; the need to display price tags.
I don't know if you've ever seen some of these women, but they have more brand logos on them than a NASCAR driver! There are some very insecure people out there (men too), many feel the need to adorn themselves with branded merchandise as a display status and importance, very sad, not all but some... My 02 cents, Paul |

PaulB I think you are wrong totally with the logo, big watch thing. You cannot claim a lady that wears a watch a few mm bigger than a "ladies" watch is trying to show off, completely wrong. Actually the really high priced bags like the kelly and birkin running into many thousands have the smallest logo possible.
I like mens sized watches, due to the chunky nature mainly. |

not sure why women (as a group) do what they do. however, i know that women in europe went to the midsize and then the large watches way before the u.s. women did....likely is a variant of personal psychology(whatever that tragically hip coded nonsense message means).

My wife liked wearing my white Milgauss when I had it and it looked great on her. Whatever floats their boats I say. I certainly don't want them telling me what to wear so I'll return the favor.

Lady with man's rolex
I got my wife a lady-dj and she loved it, (Until I got my Seadweller, and my TTSub, and my GMT).......then she tried on the 1680 Sub...... and said "I like this better"....
So we got her a SS Sub, and a GMT II...... and she wear's them all well. She saves the lady-dj for more formal engagements..... and wears the GMT-II and SS-Sub daily in a corporate environment. IMHO - it depends on the woman. She has to be able to pull it off. IMHO a 70 yr old bee-hive hairdoo retiree might have trouble pulling the look off as much as a 18-40yr old lady. All IMHO. .... Also think of how repulsive the opposite situation would be....... a man wearing a lady-Date-just with diamond bezel........ fruity pebbles :) |

My GF has my SD on her wrist b'cos
1. Loves the classic design 2. A 'fashionista' that trends towards 'larger' accessories 3. Was told that if ever we were to get married, the SD and my DS would be an engagement 'ring' set and that it would be hers. |
