I get where you’re coming from. But I will never judge someone for legally taking advantage of a market opportunity for a profit. Even if that means I need to sit on a wait list. I may not like it but I can not judge. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’ve got an AD offering me a sub no date for $6400. It’s because of the relationship I created with them. Get to know the Mgr/owner take him/her to lunch. It’ll pay BIG dividends. As far as “the grays” making money well that’s business. If they have it & you want it?

Seeing these selling for over 12k on some sites. These must be getting scarce. Now all we need is for Rolex to announce the discountinuation of the Batman at Bazelworld. I doubt it but one can be optimistic. They will probably introduce a new color cerachrome bezel.

Finally found my BLNR at a nearby AD across state lines... net cost was ~$8850. Glad I didn’t waste money feeding the gray market spending $10k on this piece. Took me less than 1 hour of work to find one.

I supposed I am the fortunate one to have bought the BLNR at MRSP less 5%. Got it April 2017.

I'd be curious to know what the final selling prices are for these BLRNs on the forum and other places? My guess is only a couple hundred, at most, over MSRP. Even though it's supposedly "hot."

A prominent Trusted Seller quoted me $9800 direct wire for a BNIB BLNR... some others wanted $9,995 and wouldn’t budge. I wouldn’t feel comfortable wiring anyone but a TS this kind of $, so I was looking at ~$1000 over what I ended up paying at my AD.

You’d be guessing wrong. They are still hot and have been strong since day 1. That is a fact and the market has clearly proven that over the years. The fact is AD’s are getting less SS sports watches and demand is high for all of the hot ones...BLNR, Daytona, SkyDweller, SubLV, Deep Blue, SD43 etc.

Keep in mind many had to pay tax, so a $8950 watch becomes $9800. A bnib for that price here is very reasonable imo.

It is not hard to imagine how a special relationship developes with gray dealers. If a dealer does not want a reputation for offering a discount, gray market allows them to move stock at a reduced profit. In exchange, grays might get to the top of the list occasionally for harder to get models.
Add to that the speculation that Rolex assigns harder to get stock to dealers based on PM sales, grays can help move the PM at a discount as well. Of course there are also Grays that simply put their name on as many lists as possible. It might even be possible for them to get the sales tax rebated back from the state as they have sales tax ID’s. |
