BLNR is all the rage these days. It would probably fit best within your collection. With that money why pay for an older watch unless it were rare?

Because it's slimmer, lighter, cooler, and likely to be more collectable.

BLNR gets my vote. Very versatile, goes with anything and a great one/first Rolex

No gents - decision made. Has to be the classic 16710. From 2005 or 2006.

A thing of beauty, not a thing of metal and shine (the blnr to me). The new maxi case doesn't appeal - that big hulk of metal along the side opposite the crown is just too much.

I am set on the 16710 Pepsi.

How does this look? Too polished?

I was just looking at that one... I think it is a Fine example, but a 5 digit expert could chime in...

Nice watch and great choice. My only reservation is no papers. But if you are sure you will never trade it, who cares?

You already have a 5 digit piece, so unless you really love the Coke I'd pass on that one. A 116710 LN is kind of redundant with a 16610 (even though it's one of my favorite watches, so I'd probably go BLNR here. The Hulk is nice too, but I find the color a bit much at times. The IWC, while a very nice piece, is not on the same level as the others you've listed here.

Thanks all for your advice. The new maxi cases are too bling, and the BLNR screams too loud for me - I live in Saigon in Vietnam! Best not to flash too much.

16710 it is.

Yes I agree with you! When described to a new comer it would sound silly, but it works and is so iconic.

@enjoythemusic - Yep. I messed up. Went against my rule and chased it up. Bad play. Jumped on nete ($27) close to peak and didn’t set any stop loss because I thought it was a runner. A few thousand shares. No need to tell you how badly that went. Sold today when it continued to declined. I’ve done well in other sectors so I guess I should stick to what I know. Sheesh but the kinda money that people have been making in this bitcoin and block chain crap lured me in, hook, line and sinker. Lesson learned. Haven’t told my wife. I need to drink bourbon first. It’s not gonna be good.

Should have listened to my brokerage advisor. But I’m an attorney so I’m smart enough to manage risk. Right? Haha!!! Never freakin again.
nete peaked at $27? I never followed this stock, but why does google say it was $3960 in 2009?

Ya, I have a friend who invested $200 in bitcoin and is now worth $7000. I have stayed away so far.

Let me know. For wearing and owning forever, not for reselling later. You'll only make money on watches through luck, or by being Paul Newman.

PS I already own a Submariner 16610.

buy a bitcoin.

or buy a hulk because it is the one I prefer. What is the one you prefer? That is more important..

You can make money on watches (or at least not lose much) if you have good knowledge about price points and also have a lot of fun flipping in the process... No luck required.

Do nothing. Figure out what you want exactly....if you've enough, then buy it. If not, then wait and save more. Never compromise or you'll be unhappy. Enjoy what you have until you can get what you want.
