I like when the AD takes off the stickers and sizes the bracelet for me... makes me feel I'm getting a little extra for my money.

It’s an official Rolex rule here in US as well Neil as I stated in my first post.

This is in the same vein as the move to random serial numbers which really didn't help the consumer as you can't now tell the age of a watch from the serial; chalk one up to the resellers.
I'm not sure that this progress is all it's cracked up to be!

I doubt it will make any difference. You see loads of members here wearing their watches with all the stickers on. Those watches may still be stickered, but they are certainly not new.

The only way to guarantee getting a brand new watch is to buy from an AD.

I just got mine, and they asked me if I wanted the stickers removed. I agreed. They did it for me.

I understand their point with this but this practice is total BS. I buy it. If I choose to sell it, that's on me. I don't agree with this at all.

My wife bought me a Rolex for our 10th anniversary. The AD wouldn’t let her take the watch home without taking off the stickers and putting her name on the warranty card. She wanted to put my name on the card but AD said it has to be the buyers name on the card.

AD Removed All the Stickers!!!

Ultimately there are only two solutions to the problem:
i. suck it up, or,
ii. don't buy another Rolex
I'm going with option ii until this dictatorial nonsense dies down.

My local AD always removes the stickers before they will give you the watch. They've done that for years. And they always seem to forget the one on the inside of the clasp...

Doesn’t bother me. In fact, one of my ADs apologized that they’d have to do this from now on. However after discussing it with them, they promised to never show the watch to anyone else before shipping it to me which is the whole point of the stickers (to minimize scratches).

My AD in Islamorada removes the stickers also. He’s a one shop owner and his AR status is far more important than going against what Geneva or NY has instructed him to do. You don’t like it, go somewhere else.

When I buy a new car, I request it straight from factory, unpainted. When I go to pick it up from the dealership, I bring a roller and get the job done myself.

It's more satisfying to take the window sticker off my new car myself, but I don't care who does it as long as they're off so I can drive it.

Happened to me at an AD in Louisville buying a Sub C date and I was even having it shipped to me, AD said it was Rolex policy didn't make much of a difference to me, he went on to tell me he had a customer fly in from DC to buy a couple pieces, Daytona and BLNR I believe and customer nearly walked out because he refused to leave the stickers on

Bought the same model Explorer back in December. AD removed the stickers as , according to them, Rolex's instructions.

This may be the case when the AD sells to you and me. When he sells to his favorite reseller, perhaps not.

Not just the UK, multiple locations in the US...
Last November when i purchased my SD4K from my
long time standing AD; new rules from Rolex, all stickers
have to be removed before the watch leaves the store.

Jacksonville, FL...

Yes some dealers do this, same thing happened to me in Bahrain.

I wish all the dealers would do the same it's always very painful for me to remove the stickers myself.

My AD removed the stickers too, I didn't mind as I am planning to wear the watch. I have a long relationship with the AD.

They say they are starting to do that so the watch doesn't appear on the secondary market to sale as new (even though he knows that I am a collector).
