I know a guy who did this for his top sales guys. He had the watches engraved so it wouldn't be easy for them to flip for cash.

I'm in the automotive business and it's pretty common practice for Rolex watches to be given as recognition for milestones and achievements. I actually just accrued a pretty sizable gift card from my Manufacturer to Tourneau - waiting to see what new releases are in store for Basel though.

I was at my AD looking around a month or so ago and a guy walked in, purchased a TT Sub for an employee of his who closed some huge sale.

As others have said, it seems fairly common in the car industry. Every time I go into a car dealership it seems like the younger sales staff are in competition for who can have the largest most obnoxious watch but you'll see the older guys with DJs and Subs.

Just got mine I have worked for a small company for 32 years. About 3 months ago, the owner said he wanted to buy me a Rolex in honor of my 30 plus years of service. I told him it wasn’t necessary, but he said pick one out or i will, so i had go online and look around. Ended up on the forum and looked around a while, then i saw the black and blue GMT, i showed it to him, and said i still didn’t think it was necessary, but this model was beautiful. That was 2 months ago, didn’t really think about it again. Yesterday he called me into his office and gave me this, took him that long to find it he said. It going back to the dealer to be engraved next week.

The two-tone sub is the car dealers watch of choice.

Southern Company (Georgia Power) gives choice of OP34 or $1000 gift card at 30 years. Engraved on back with years of service and employees name.

Not sure if there will be changes going forward.
There is no doubt, OP34 is bettet than $1000 gift card at 30 years.
