One reason to do this yourself I suppose is because the AD where I live wouldn't do it, and the next nearest (who would do it) is about 450 miles away. An independent jeweler offered to do it for the equivalent of about US$30 and all day to do it, but I wasn't convinced they would do any better job than me.......
It really is easy! And ZERO damage! |

Very nice!
Now, what kind of lubrication did you use to apply to the teeth of the bezel, since running it dry will wear out the bezel fairly quick? For those that asked about the cerachrom bezel (like on the DSSD), the bezel is designed totally different!! Don't try this at home!!

Based on the feedback I am sure this is great, but work has blocked the pics so will have to check at home!

heres a thought ,,,, turn th bezel to a random position before prying it off , then , as there may be a small bit of wear it will occur on a different part of the bezel each time , avoiding a stretched / worn part if you do it often.
just my thoughts. |

I can't get it the bezel ring is 18k gold if that makes any difference I pop 1 corner or the insert in another pops out it I hold all but 1 corner down tight and then push the left over corner on a hard surface it won't budge in it's like it doesn't fit but it is the original Besel and insert

Just need a tad more pressure, applied as evenly as possible.

Try placing the bezel with insert over a bottle neck and push down then you get even pressure the whole way around the bezel. Use tape too.

Another helpful hint is to put the metal bezel in the freezer and put the new insert under hot water just prior to reinstallation (cold expands the bezel, heat shrinks the insert)...it helps!

I don't understand where the little metal stick goes, does it go under the washer? over the washer how does it stay in place while your putting the bezel back on, it moves all over the place.
I got my bezel off very easy and the insert came off good too, but the stick and washer are the problems now..please someone explain. thanks

The washer goes under the clickspring. Aligning it in the teeth of the bezel ring is a pain in the ass but stick at it. When the ring is clicked back in place turn it to see if it functions correctly. If not, rinse and repeat. Then press the insert in with rubber handles ;)

This helped me. It's similar enough to the GMT ring and bezel layout. Cheers padi :D
