As a BLNR owner, I'd say keep the Pepsi if you don't want both. I would still love to pick up a Pepsi one day

I've made that trade before and lost interest with the BLNR quickly. I bought back the Pepsi last year and have never been happier (especially now I worked out how to change the bezel to the coke)

I was in a similar position. I loved my 16710 with all 3 bezel's but I couldn't resist the more modern benefits of the BLNR. I sold my Pepsi and went with Batman. I can't say I regret it at all. Sure I miss the Pepsi but I don't need 2 GMT's and overall the BLNR wins out.

I did it. Enjoyed the BLNR much more than the Pepsi. However I then sold the BLNR and bought a 16610LV.

Hard to recommend the change.....I love the BLNR but the 5 digit GMTs are something special.

Keep and add! I was in the same boat, I thought a Pepsi and BLNR would be redundant. Not at all! They look, feel, and just seem so different that you can easily justify having both. My Pepsi was my first Rolex too, I have fond memories of when and where I was when I bought it, couldn’t bring myself to sell!

I have a 16710 currently sporting a Pepsi bezel insert and a BLNR. I love both, but I have said many times that if I had to roll my collection back to one watch, it would be the 16710.
So my answer is "no."

16710 was in production for 18 years and they made hundreds of thousands of them. It isn’t a rare watch.
The BLNR has been around for a little over 5 years and the production does not come close to the 16710. |

While I'm sure the BLNR is a helluva watch, the 16710 is iconic

A final thought on this. The OP wanted an opinion and the majority so far seems to have weighed in on "keeping", including BLNR owners like myself. The Pepsi is a great watch. But so is the BLNR.
Having seen or read similar threads on "should I sell or flip for a modern watch", I guess the real issue one needs to face on an older series watch is what is the personal standard to apply, other than externally determined value or personal milestone/event. For me it will be a "grand pa" watch standard, (apologies to any grand parents out there): dated movement with possibly higher service costs, a period but non-timeless style or look, a bracelet heading south in terms of how it wears or looks, and a model/ complication that will just seem like "too yesterday" to have real legitimate appeal to watch buyers today. At some point you just have to embrace watch modernity. For some I appreciate that it will be kicking and screaming. |

I sold my 16710 to get a 1675. I wouldn’t go “up” to a modern GMT by selling 16710 if I were in your shoe.

No! And I don’t even like 5 digits. But I would take a Pepsi any day if the week.

Doesn't sound like the reason for only one is financial... I'd say get the BLNR and see which you prefer after owning both for a while, then decide if you still want to get rid of one. Either will be easy to sell

Hang onto the 16710. You can change bezel inserts and have 3 watches in one. It’s easy to pop off the bezel and change. I had a 16710. Flipped for BLNR and now the BLNR is gone and the 16710 is back, along with all 3 inserts and a jubilee + oyster bracelet. My 16710 is 6 watches in one. The BLNR has polished center links and the insert is shiny. The whole BLNR is too shiny for me. Of course, it’s a personal preference and I had to experience it and make up my own mind. I love to flip watches around and try them. Let us know what you do. As you read here so often, there is no wrong decision. I settled on what’s right, for me. They are both great pieces.

Go ahead. The newness, weight, bracelet. You'd be mad not to.

I had my Blnr first then added a 16710 Pepsi.
I wear my Pepsi more now but love them both. I certainly wouldn’t be selling a 16710. |

I feel like everyone selling their 5 digits for 6 digits are gonna be kicking themselves in 10 - 15 years.

I also sold my 16600 SD even though everyone told me not to. One of my biggest watch regrets I’ll be holding on to my 16570 and 14060M for a long time Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'm personally a BLNR fan, its my next watch, and I prefer it to the older models (i'm young and stupid) BUT you have 15 years of history with that watch, 15 years of memories. Hard thing to give away in my opinion. I would keep the pepsi.
