" Let me sell my Red 1680 Sub because a new sub with a new movement will be announced and my will become obsolete" Said no one.

Don't worry about what might be announced or not, 1st of all they will be hard to get, 2nd you have an amazing watch that you should be wearing and enjoying instead of worry on "what if's".

There is no 3236. The current GMT uses the 3186; the next-gen GMT will presumably use a 3286. The current 3186 has issues with the hour wheel click spring breaking, but that's a long-standing problem Rolex hasn't fixed, not a new-movement issue. The 3136 was a standard three-hand date movement used only in the DJII; it was basically a 3135 (currently used in the Sub Date) with a proprietary shock system. It is not used in any current production model. Evidently there will be no 3236 to replace it, since the DJ41 uses the 3235.

To the OP's question, new movements always present the potential for problems as the bugs are worked out over time, whereas older-style movements tend to be time-tested and less problematic, simply because whatever problems they had have been worked out (although the 3186 is a notable exception). That said, I am not aware of any reported problems with the 32xx movements so far.

Thank you for the information. I was relying on memory of something I had read in passing.
