very nice, with regard to the black dial. I would add a bit more and purchase the Explorer 1.

I concur, it’s a really nice simple clean crisp looking watch.

I agree with the others that the olive green would be great in 36 and 39mm. I love that colour, but I will not be in the market for a PM Rolex. Is there a an OP anniversary coming up?

Very nice addition indeed, I really like the white version 36 or 39 mm. All my Rolex have black face, I need to check it out.

That's exactly what I was thinking. The second I saw it on the Rolex website I knew it wasn't doing it any justice.

The white dial is sharp.

You think you can get a discount? I have a feeling there will be waiting lists for this in London.

I can't find any live pics. No one is covering this... may not be a bad thing for the UK buyers.

Hold your horses Neil, I never mentioned anything about UK. That's a different world when it comes to Rolex

But yes, the entire Oyster Perpetual line isn't a 'signature' model (from a sales standpoint) so it practically never has any type of waiting list. Even if it's not in the case, any AD should be able to get it quickly. I mean come on, Rolex didn't even announce it as a Basel release. Works for me though.

Great watch and the dials are nice but this new 39mm OP compared to the 214270 is, to me, a distinction without any real difference.

I love these entries. Can't wait to see them in person. Fills out the OP line nicely.

Interesting to hear that you don't like the double batons either. I had a stainless steel op 36 that have I since sold, but never grew to like the double batons on the 3/6/9. We excited to see the new OP 36 in black, until I realized that only the 36 has the double batons again...(why only the 36!?)

The white dial has me really thinking...I was planning on getting a white 16570, but now that I have a Tudor Heritage Chronograph that can sort of do the work of a dual timezone watch, maybe I should get the OP39 in white instead. I don't really have anything dressy in my collection and I could still dress it down with a NATO like I was planning on doing with the 16570. And, a good 16570 with lug holes and Superluminova or Luminova would cost similar to the OP39. Plus, it would be newer and more accurate.

I think it's part of the standard Rolex thing of giving you almost what you want but not quite, e.g. Milgauss with the lightning hand.

I think my next watch will be this, the 14000M at 34mm, which is almost perfect but not quite, i.e. it would be with SELs and a 36mm case. I think I prefer the white lume dots on the 14000M to the black ones on the new 34mm OP, although having seen neither of them in the flesh it's impossible to be sure.

Re the difference between its off-white silver dial and the new OP white dial, I'm not sure if I yet have an opinion.

Really like these! You could dress them up with a nice leather strap, or down with a nato etc.

I asume that the reason for the double batons is to improve readability on dark, but they really mess the clean dial. If they are part of the design, why not in the other sizes?
Maybe they do it on the 36 to highlight the differences with the Datejusts and to squeeze a bit to the customer giving reasons to go for the DJ instead of the OP with the corresponding 1,200$ price difference.

That white 39 is beautiful. I’m with the others thoUgh, in that I’d really love to see a real life black dial pic.

This distraction will not work, Eliot. I'm getting the green 34 OP!

I've alway been partial to the black dial, I just love the way it looks against the steal. But man, that white dial with black accents is really nice. Tough call between the two.

That’s also what I was thinking after looking at Jocke’s Bâle review. There was a picture of the white dialed OP and it looked really nice.

Wow, did not even know that Rolex had released these two pieces. I really like the clean look of these dials. Both have their appeal but the black sunburst dial is going to be stunning.

Now... Explorer 1 or new OP?
