The Mini dealership tried to pull some BS on my wife and I confronted them about it in front of a waiting room full of customers. I like watching dealership employees squirm after they get busted for trying to rip me off.
Funny I did and they wanted the six pack back, go figure

The dealership is totally wrong on this. In my stores people would be fired on the spot. I would do my very best to reimburse the customer and then go above and beyond to try it make it right. I will say this...I don’t ever curse or raise my voice to a customer. However, when a customer takes that course with me I politely explain I’m not yelling and cursing at you, please do not yell or curse at me. I’m here to help you the customer. If the customer continues to make a scene I simply walk away. In 24 years in the car biz I’ve never lost a a deal or a customer due to another customer making a scene in the showroom. Usually they look at the person throwing the fit and think they are crazy. I also love the I’m going to call my lawyer bit. Great. You have a lawyer. So do we. Here’s his name and number. Every company makes mistakes; however how a company makes good on the mistake it what defines the company. Treat me with respect and I will do the same and bend over backwards to make the customer happy. Yell and curse at me...I’m all set not bending over backwards. Some of my best customers were customers that had a poor experience with us. How we addressed the issue has made them loyal customers. With 85 plus employees it’s hard to have your finger on everyone at every time. There is no excuse for eBay this MB dealer did. What they did to make it right would be my question.

Oh yeah...I’ve had many people threaten to drive their car through the showroom window...haven’t seen it in 24 years nor have I heard of it ever happening.

Took my BMW in for servicing a month ago, I got the dashcam after a guy hit me but later denied it, so his insurance would not pay. Anyhow when I brought my BMW in for servicing I noticed the dashcam was disconnected when I got my vehicle back.

Shameful and disrespectful but not surprised at all. This world we live in today is full of this and it's pretty much happening everywhere.

From what i see the service manager is at fault for not monitoring his team.... and the worker(i use that term loosely) is the primary culprit here

His attitude is woeful and i bet this isnt the first time hes wasted most of his day doing nothing but screwing around.....

In saying that id say most of his co-workers knew what he was doing and said nothing which goes back to the lack of professionalism and the fact the service manager either is incompetent or knew what his team was and wasnt doing......

Im sure the dealer principle and general manager were unaware as they have a reputation to uphold

All in all id be PISSED and would want to make sure the offenders are fired and removed of any MB accreditation they have

So, nobody else takes issue with fact the techs didn't drop a patch when that had the car?

I mean, if you're risking your job going to Wendy's, what's a burnout going to do?

The damage will come out of their final check. Who wants to be unemployed and broke.

Maybe the ice cream was to ensure the heated/cooled cup holders were functioning properly.

Doubt they were fired.

But a patch still would have been cool.

If their manager was anything like Shannon, I bet they were fired.

I agree.

When exposed like this they pretty much have to be fired.

dP

I don’t mark the filter but I do make sure they do the rotation of the tires. easy to get out and find a distinguishing mark on the left rear tire/wheel and make sure that mark is on the left front when they are done.

Doubt it.

There's privacy issues at play for the techs, and MB Canada has great lawyers. That's why the dealer initially told him to speak to corporate. He was looking for $$$. No dealer would make this guy escalate unless he was way beyond reasonable.

The only thing wrong is the ice cream run. An easy free detail and service credit would make this go away. There's more to this.

Yes, it's wrong, but is it illegal? Not imop.

This video release is likely sour grapes with nothing else to do or lose with limitations exceeded at 2yrs. Now the owner is blacklisted since this is a MB Canada corporate store.

BMW can deal with him.

Of course they did.

Even if they didn't want to fire them they have to protect the company reputation and show that they did something.

Then why would they drag it out over a $235 service bill?

If they have to protect the company reputation, of course.
