I got mine a week ago and I was surprised that the AD was forced to remove all protection...

But apparently it's Rolex's new requirements to all official ADs. It's to prevent grey-market business etc.

A fantastic instrument incorporating all of rolex's updated technology and an awesome-looking watch too

Congratulations.

You paid the equivalent of USD15k / EUR12.7k / GBP12k. That's 22% over retail where I live, interesting. I didn't expect it to do so well one year after the release. When I bought mine 12 months ago, my understanding was it's a very niche product with low production and few people would want it.

i got mine yesterday, not sure though whether i want to keep it. it is certainly a perfectly executed watch but top heavy, thick and the hands seem so small compared to the huge bezel around. maybe i am used to sub and GMT esthetics but...anyway, i shall give it a week or so, let us see.
funny, today my 5524 patek pilot seems small for the first time...

You may want to wait on my "pictorial" before letting it go... I'd hate to be part of the cause of your seller's remorse...

the markers, hands, fonts, etc are proportionately larger.
I suspect the bezel follows suit although I'm not planning to try to measure it & do the math...

I'll repeat myself a little here as I said this in another thread. Give it some time. Don't make a decision after days or even weeks. Give it a month at least. Your mind is still used to wearing 40 mm Rolex sports watches. When you first put on a 43 it it going to feel a little unusual. Not because 43mm is too big or 40mm is just right, but because you have become USED to wearing a GMT-size watch. Give it a few weeks and you'll become more comfortable wearing it and will then appreciate the added heft and size. It will feel "special" at that point, trust me. I was in the same boat, now it never leaves my wrist. If you flip after a week you may very well regret it at some point. Just going by my own experience here but it took me about 1-2 months before I was completely comfortable with it, even though it fits me absolutely perfectly. Like I said, we (Rolex wearers) have become accustomed to smaller watches so it does take some getting used to - good luck. Mine says "Hi" by the way

Second that. Although my bracelet was sized correctly, I was continually adjusting it because I thought it was too tight. I finally figured out it was the weight of the case that made it feel that way (I was used to a GMT II). After three weeks I have totally adjusted to the feel and have even fallen asleep with it on several nights.

actually, i had a link taken out from the 6 o'clock side and moved it over to 12. turns out that the feel and looks are now much better, and i am rethinking:::))) probably i can sell it in a year or two and not loose money anyway....
