I had such disparaging experience recently with AD. I'll even call them out. Tourneau in VA, Edward Arthur in MD, Govberg(who now is more of an enterprise than your friendly watch store - watch out what you say or you will be blackballed - pun intended), Meierotto in MO, and on and on. I've bought watches from all of them. Sold some back too. Their level of greed is unspoken and to be read between the lines. It's no different than our friendly grey dealers on here except their demands are up front vs the AD in no uncertain terms are asking that you buy PM or low volume like TT watches in order to be in their inner circle.

I get the pay to play phenomenon since I just did it, but I would rather pay my taxes up front, when I want to, and for what I want to on, rather than play the mind games that AD like to proffer.
I completely understand your frustration and decision to buy from David. He’s being honest and upfront, and I’m sure many individuals here work for or own businesses that sell items at higher margins than he does. None of us know how much he had to pay, or how hard he had to work to buy that piece either.

Congrats on the watch!

Congrats!

Face it guys, only a FEW of us can get it at MSRP from the ADs, the majority of you have NO chance of getting this watch at MSRP!

Life is short...
Congrats on your new watch.
I’d do the same if I have enough cash.
I don’t care what people think about how I spend my hard earned cash.
Wear her in good health.

Hype at its finest!!
We as WIS community create the market, and then shame someone for participating in the market. This phenomenon is our own Golden cage!

We idolize and fetishsize watches for various reasons whether it be for aesthetics, exclusivity, status, investment, or simply a hobby but ultimately we can all become slaves to our passions. Sorry to sound high and mighty, but I have noticed this in myself.

In the end we all have a line we don't cross financially for a particular time piece. The OP must've did his "watch logic" math and weighed the pros and cons, and he pulled the trigger with clear eyes and hopefully a clear mind. CHEERS AND ENJOY IT IN GOOD HEALTH!! TRULY!

But do you think David got his piece on 'retail' price ? Even TS are buying over MSRP now a days and hence the bigger price markup!

Very interesting that the buyer turns out to be TRF member. Thank you for sharing your side of the story, though you are in no way obligated to defend yourself from judgmental people on the internet. Congrats on the Pepsi!!

maybe the first couple years, but I bet that it won't be as difficult in a couple years.

the BLNR was easily purchased after 1-2 years of being "unobtainable"

That was before the new Rolex scarcity marketing, things has changed unfortunately.

These are high priced material toys that none of us need. Not Life saving drugs. By all means if people want to profit or pay twice as much let them be. Rolex is the only one that can control this market.

I'm guessing he received it directly from an AD at MSRP. But that's only based on the timeline.

It’s grwoing on me for sure. Love the look and movement upgrade. I’m torn with jubilee. I feel jubilee bracelets add a few years to my age but I’ll give it time.

Congrats! Wear it, the whole idea about paying the premium is to have it now and be able to enjoy wearing, years ahead of those who wait on the call.

I personally love the jubilee bracelet and think this is what a GMT should have.

I have been off the social media stuff for a few months now, however, can personally let you know this isn’t the first one in the America’s. It’s one of the first but not the first
