LOL yeah it's amazing how they just APPEAR when a customer is willing to buy a $30,000+ watch with it!

I find this thread funny. So don't write off the walk in Daytona purchase, so long as you are willing to buy a 30K+ DD.

I agree. Not exactly the same thing, title is like click bait. You didn't just happen to walk in and ask for a Daytona and bam...you had to buy a watch that very few people want at the moment or can afford. The AD seemed to be holding the watch ransom and the op himself even stated how he asked for the Daytona.

Buying a ss in 2018 is quid pro quo it seems. More proof.
Nonetheless, I won't be the Debbie downer. Congrats op on two incredibly beautiful watches.

Congrats!! Awesome that you got what you wanted didn’t have the ‘pay-to-play’ games for Daytona C. Two fantastic watches!

This is the equivalent of:

'Don't give up on the ugly guy getting the model girl!'

opens thread

'.....as long as you have plenty of zeroes in your bank account!'

Perfect analogy. As the above poster stated, thread was click bait but had he left the 30K DD out of the story, everyone would have been really bitter. At least we all know why he was so "lucky".

Congrats to the OP! Beautiful pieces!

But guarantee you if you asked for a Daytona and Daytona only I think the story would be quite different. I've heard even our local ADs have been keeping the piece stashed at the back until someone comes in and drops a load of cash on various pieces.

Either way, win-win for you when the wife gives the permission hahaha

It’s great to see people getting Daytona’s! It’s not as great to see you have to buy a DD in order to get one. But hey, you wanted one anyways so that’s great!

Care to share the discount you got on the DD?

I'm slightly considering a bundle purchase if the math works out to something less than a bleeding. Thanks

This is a great read, that’s how you do it! Congratulations, I also bought a DD40, with Silver Romans, I had to wait a few months for the Daytona though.
