Definitely not worth the money purchased new. But the low resale value makes them a great buy. I've had my 5115 for five years and love it! Cellinis are all over the board in terms of appearance. Vintage is more my speed.

Cellini Moonphase is great

I bought one and my brother bought it off of me. He has Pateks, Subs, VC and he wears the Cellini. Maybe not loved here or in resale but a classy watch

The new Cellini Moonphase and the Prince Ref 5443 are both outstanding watches. In my view both will be collectors items in 20 years. Neither of these watches have “Cellini” branded on them (which personally I do not like and believe it detracts from the brand) and both are certified chronometers. The design DNA for both these watches goes back a lot further than any of the sport models and they are indeed every bit a classic Rolex. The 5443 has one of the finest in house manual movements made by anyone, anywhere.

Nice! How much do they weight in grams? Does it uses a deployant or a regular buckle?

Beautiful pieces. The moonphase is one of my favs. They are good deals out there in the secondary market

These are not only good deals in the secondary market but the ADs as well.
The AD I have been going to also sells Patek. He says, customers may like and are intrigued by the Cellini...but they end up buying a Patek. He rarely sells a Cellini and has quite a few in his case. Told me, pick any Cellini and he will take 30-35% off.

He said when people buy that style of watch, they have a very definitive style and want people to know that they bought a Patek, or they are just parking money. Never thought of a Patek as a hedge...but apparently that happens. He said you really have to love a Cellini. He was pretty frank with me and told me even at 30-35% off MSRP I may never be able to recoup my money if I sold. He said operative word was "if". Told me not easy to sell on secondary market.

But shofzr's Platinum Cellini Cellinium has to be one the nicest watches I have ever seen. Making me think...it is just a watch...who cares about resale...just buy and enjoy. I am very new to the watch game and it is just a hobby... so I just may pull the trigger. Thanks shofzr for posting!

I wouldn't want that platinum Cellini. I'd never be able to take my eyes off that gorgeous dial. Absolutely stunning.

An AD had made me a great offer for a Cellini 6622 which would be perfect for my wife. He was not sure if the band could be adjusted without taking it to a goldsmith/jeweler and having the mesh band cut off (since there are no links per say to remove). Seems extreme to me - what if the jeweler cuts off too much and then it is too small? Has anyone had the band adjusted? The watch is 26 years old and I have never had a quartz movement Rolex (mine is a Datejust). Any concerns with the longevity of a quartz style Rolex? Don't want to spend that kind of money if it only has a few good years left.

That Moonphase is so unique. I have a buddy that has an opportunity to do an even trade for his black daytona. To me thats a tough one.

Is Cellini considered be in a higher class to Rolex, the way Wilsdorf made Rolex to Tudor?

Did you have to have the band re-sized? How has the quartz movement been?

Some of the Cellini line are very attractive but JLC offers a lot more value in that segment.

Changed the original strap for a ABP blue alligator. I like it! Matches the sky.

I did the unthinkable. I sold my 16600 and I brought an Apple Iwatch and 5330/8 Cellini. I wear the Iwatch during the week days and I wear the Cellini over the weekend. It has been almost a year and I have no regrets.
