To my knowledge, I don't think you can buy the dial without the watch replacement dial to replace.

I may be wrong though?

I misunderstood your question - no idea if that would even be possible and, if so, how much.

Sorry.

Last year saw one for sale on Ebay, Supposely genuine Rolex and still on factory sealed container.

Rolex factory dials are available, a while back sourced a seal Daytona Panda dial for my gone 116520 (below)

No way. Don’t believe that BS at all. Your AD is talking out of his arse.

(I would love it if that was the case since I own one though)

I find this interesting. While I don’t believe it, I found it fascinating and frustrating just how difficult it was to reacquire a new one recently. During my hunt, I mentioned this concern (that it may be discontinued) to a few fellow TRFs. Glad I got mine, just in case.......

I heard from a very reliable source that the shortage of new ones was caused by sellers who can’t live without them and buy new ones to replace the one they sold.

The Platona is certainly a watch that is not so noticeable to non-WISes. I like the fact that its not screaming at you like how YG or RG does, and there's no denying the weight of the watch makes it unmistakable. I've been contemplating one for the longest time, but always try to justify myself, how many other nice SS watches I could buy for the same money. I own an SS Daytona myself, and given my love for vintage pieces, the moderns in my collection get very little wrist time(SS Daytona included). Hence why i have hesitated for so long.

But, if I had to choose just one PM Modern Rolex, this would be it. I do secretly hope that one day, I'll give up on my vintages and get this for sure.

I think Rolex could have made a much better design combination for this ''flagship''.

Is that a pretty decent price for the EU? It seems a bit high for USA prices.

I would be inclined to disagree with the bright yellow and green logo on the dial. It looks like a miniature banner from one of their sports ads.

Love the ice blue aspect, but loath the poop brown colour. Otherwise I’d snap one up in an instant.
Substitute the poop brown with Royal Blue - now we’re talking.
I understand colou4 is personal, but blue and brown don’t really go together.
Just saying.

Everyone has their own taste, but make sure you see one in person before you write it off.

I can understand not wanting a brown watch period but the colors in the 506 are classic earth tones that go together very well. Imho of course!

One of the most beautiful (if not the most) Rolexes, for sure... The brown / ice blue color combo is killer.
