If it was a chase then I`d be up for it. It feels more like the race is over before I even get started..

The longer the wait, the sweeter the taste!.. a lot of us in the same boat looking for these beauties. If they were readily available would we lust after them as much?

It seems a shame to visit one of the greatest cities and think about....watches. There are so many better things to do in London.
Incidentally, that white gold/blue dial Daytona is the model I have. Nice watch. You can get 10% off PM models....and second-hand they are even more attractive.

bumping this one up. I know it will be hard to find hot SS models in London, how about PM Models? Are they readily available in dealers?

Like new the GMT WG Meteorite? Daytona Platinum? DD40 Platinum?

Here is the easy way to figure out if you’ll find a watch in an AD.

If it re-sells for a profit the likelihood you’ll find one in an AD for sale is close to zero.

If it’s not a profitable watch then your chances of finding it somewhere in a city like London are very good.

The golden rule for most ADs is hot watches are sold to loyal and local customers first. Most city ADs have more customers in this category than they receive hot models per year which is why the chance for walk-in clients is so low.

Depends on the dealer you go to. Many Central London ADs don’t have a problem selling platinum watches without a discount, so a lot will offer zero.

Ultimately the amount you get offered is the amount of discount available on the day. It’s not helpful looking at a forum post that might say ‘they will definitely give you 20%’ because nobody but the AD you walk in to can tell you what they will do.

At least you should qualify for VAT refund. And of course you will declare the watch and pay tax in your home country

If you get the VAT back then no AD should give you a further discount, if you are lucky enough to be sold one as a tourist, as ADs prefer repeat business customers unless the model you want has no friends at all.
