Long before this madness. It was a professional and amicable transaction. I'm of the belief those days are long gone.

You got that right. I don’t think it can go back to the old ways unless Rolex were to flood the market with models and product. Not sure that’s possible?

Mid 90's. Downsized a few vintage Omegas. 14k Yellow Gold Date. On 14K yell gold band. And then I got interested in sports watches. Little did I know.

My first Rolex came home with me 21 years ago. Let me tell you the display cases were packed! No shortages in sight. I even got to try on a platinum Day-Date with a meteorite dial. It was a very good day.

Took thirty years to get the first. Wanted one since I could remember. Subsequent watches have come more quickly

December 1989. 5513. Was told it was the last one he would ever have new. Came back two weeks later and he had another one in the display.

2015, Yacht-Master 116622 pt dial, felt amazing, still does. No matter what I added later, nothing beated the excitement of my first Rolex. It's a bit like your first crush, your first sports car and many other "first" in life.

Purchased my first 8 years ago now, a DJ 16233 from a fellow TRF member, back then it was a massive achievement, little did I know what it was the start of!

14060 in 1996.........

I'm done with the way things currently are so I'm happy to sit it out from the side-lines with my 214270.

When you detach yourself from the hype and bullsh*t you know

July 29, 1983 16660 Sea Dweller, Bucherer Zurich. Still have it including the box and papers. Serviced about every 10 years. Took my son to Zurich and bought him his Explorer II from Bucherer on his 21st birthday, 2007.

2015, after climbing the watch ladder for a few years (from $400-$500 microbrands, then $1000-$1500 microbrands, then Tudors and Omegas) then finally I was able to afford a Rolex) 114060 for $5800 from DavidSW.
