I never gave it much thought before, but in reading this thread I realized that the one thing I don’t like about my Omega Seamaster’s is the non-tapering bracelet. Other than that I really do love my Omegas, but that one item keeps them from getting much wrist time.

The Rolex taper is beautiful and wouldn't want it any other way.

The taper makes the case look bigger.
I was shopping for a watch to wear on a NATO strap and tried on the Tudor Big Block. It seemed fine on the bracelet, but the 40mm case looked small on a non-tapering NATO. |

Love the taper. Not a deal breaker, but a big consideration.
The reverse is definitely true for me. There are some watches I really like, but can't get on with the lack of taper. |

I like the tapered bracelet design of Rolex watches and would like to continue seeing that design element on Rolex watches. And I would like to see it on the seamaster 300. I really like its watch body itself but its non-tapered steel bracelet puts me off.

Taper matters. It’s hard for me to get past the lack of taper on Omega bracelets. I currently own none.
Feels like they need to taper, to me.

I would never buy a watch without a taper on the bracelet, or on a strap for that matter.
A taper is a non-negotiable feature. |

Love the taper on the bracelet. My five digits seem to have a more attractive taper than my six digit did. Not sure if it was all in my head, but it didn’t stand out as much on my GMT as it does on my Sub or did on my Exp II.
It does give the watch a more finished look to my eyes. As another poster said, it seems like Rolex just put a little more thought into the design. Miles better than my Omega bracelet was, both in looks and in comfort. |

I’ve had both depending on the brand. Frankly, once the watch is on my wrist the taper is indistinguishable from non taper (to me).

I don't know if tapering the bracelet was a Rolex invention or others had done it before but this design decision made Rolex's bracelets 100 times more comfortable.

It’s definitely 22mm — I threw it on one of my NATOs to try it out. I think the case is much chunkier than a BB. Would that they were able to squeeze in the gmt movement into a 58 case — I’d still own it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Means zero to me. Literally I don’t get all these people saying they wouldn’t wear a non-tapered bracelet. My Omega wears just as comfortable as my sub, which surprised me, because Rolex people have engrained in my head that no bracelet or brand will feel as good as a Rolex. I’ve found that to be total nonsense.
