Nope but then I am not a huge lover of the Daytona. Would not part with my BLNR.

Nope! You have two of my grail watches, I would keep those. Much more variety with all that color and different tool watches.

No way. I was all about the white D500, until trying it in, and I was deeply underwhelmed. Much prefer an LVC or BLNR All day every day. Plus, having a date is nice, and a brushed/PCL option. Swapping those 2 beauties with all of their versatility and complications is just buying into the hype too much in my opinion. You have a killer duo now.

I wouldnt do it. Keep the BLNR and LVc. Be patient and add the Daytona later. To me the perfect 3 Rolex collection would be BLNR, LVc, and the Daytona C (...and a Black Subc on your wrist ). You already have 2 of the 3, just keep saving!

Probably, a bad trade money wise but a great trade when you're talking about a beautiful, highly desirable watch vs..........

I'm lucky in having a BLNR a LVc and a white faced steel bezel Daytona, but I certainly wouldn't do that trade.
The Daytona is the watch I keep for special occasions, and I personally couldn't wear it everyday, but the GMT and Sub are perfect everyday watches.

Two watches are better than one (if you only have two?)

Not a good trade. You have two amazing watches. Enjoy them and wait patiently for the opportunity to buy the Daytona at MSRP. Perhaps when that time comes you can potentially add to your collection or only have to sell one of the two to make the purchase.

I appreciate the replies guys. I thought it'd be a tough one, but the TRF community has spoken pretty strongly in favour of the BLNR and Lvc. After much thought, weighing the pros and cons of both options, it is pretty clear that I was crazy to even think about letting go of my two beauties.

I am now going to, once again, contact all ADs in my area, and hopefully try and get on a waiting list (albeit, highly unlikely, I know). If anybody has any tips for the Toronto area, I would much appreciate it.

Thanks again everybody!

No problem. Desperate times can make a man think crazy thoughts.

No way.

While the Daytona is one of the most visually attractive and iconic watches Rolex makes I find chronometers to be frustrating as a day to day timepiece. For me, when I put one on my wrist, it is very difficult to read the time due to all that is going on with the three smaller dials.

Tough one. On balance probably no but it’s up to the individual every time. Anyone saying wait and pay MSRP for a Daytona has a point but you’re a long time dead...
I’ve paid over retail for watches and had no regrets. I took a view the premium was worth paying for having the watch in the here and now and wearing it. I don’t see a problem with buying a watch over premium (which actually is the defined market price at the time) wearing it, getting great pleasure from it and eventually getting my money back or taking a loss. At the end of the day it’s a hobby/interest for most people, not a livelihood.
