And variety. Three watches in one with the ability to swap bezel inserts.

I'm shocked that the 6-digit doesn't look significantly larger than the 5-digit. I thought the maxi case would make it look much larger than it actually does. The newer model looks a little beefier, but not larger. Hm...

Prefer the new one as I like the maxi dial better.

Great picture to compare. Thanks!

Both are fantastic. Personally, I prefer (and have) the new one, but I’d love to have both.

Wear and enjoy both of those beauties!

This is a tricky one.

I prefer the new 6 digit watches but the Jubilee bracelet has never done anything for me, neither do PCL's. However, I've been spoiled by the fit and finish of 6 digit Rolex's and their Oyster Bracelets so can't go back to 5 digit models. I'm not keen on drilled lugs, holes and a more flimsy (Over time) bracelet so don't have any desire for them.

So my perfect GMT Master II would be a new Oyster Steel 6 digit model with a brushed Oyster bracelet, preferably with the Glidelock that the Submariner has.

If Rolex made that in the next few years, a possibility, then that would be my second Rolex model!

I generally prefer new to old, which is ironic when you consider how much I love my 16710. I don't like patina, hence the dial and hands change at last service. The new BLRO is certainly growing on me. At first blush I was enthralled. But the more I looked at it, the less I liked the colors and the maxi case. Preferred the older smaller case and more vibrant blue/red of the 5-digit bezel insert. But as I've come to understand the new colors are closer to the original bakelite insert colors I have found a new appreciation.

If I were grading the new BLRO like a test paper in university it would have gone:

A+ at launch ----> C- a month later ----> B+/A- now. And growing on me still. I've also begun to really like the CHNR. Never liked the old Root Beer GMTs, but this new one is special. Chocolate has replaced Root Beer, and I like it!

The older version wins my vote, not saying the new does nothing for me.

Old. It doesn't get much better than than a Pepsi on an oyster bracelet.

Old GMT all the way.

The ceramic bezel is a feat of engineering, and does look good... But to me, i want my watch to age with me, with the ceramic, the whole watch shows the daily batter and age, but the ceramic bever changes which looks weird.

Plus, i try to avoid those huge lugs on modern Sports Rolex watches. 5-digit are just gorgeous.

Agreed with you and exact my thoughts as well. I like the faded bezel a lots and this is charm of the vintage

I have a GMT Master Pepsi from 1996. My AD is itching to buy it, as I’m looking seriously at the new GMT iic Pepsi. He says my Master is the most valuable in my 3 watch collection and can’t believe I wear it daily. It is virtually flawless. Anyone interested?? PM me if so.
