I'm an old guy, so that probably explains my love for the Blusey. And the TT contrast. Oh, and the beautiful 3D iridescent dial (like the Hulk's yet different). And how the dial font contrasts and compliments the blue. Oh yeah, and the Glidelock. Not forgetting the colour and depth of colour of the bezel. Or how the bezel changes colour. Yep. All all old guy stuff. Guilty as charged.

LOL; you got me. I didn't make my point well. I realize root beer is a GMT. I should've been more specific. Blue is a great color for a dive watch for obvious reasons. Brown is a dumb bezel color for a GMT IMHO.

They are both beautiful watches, and the Bluesy is an icon.
I'm not sure I would own a gold or TT watch, but if I had to choose, it would be the CHNR. The RG blends into any skin tone beautifully. |

Tough choice but I think I would opt for the 'bluesy' (term coined by JJ).
However I would wait another 4 months to see if they give it the new movement in Basel 2019. Good luck. |

This is really a tough one. I have a fondness for both watches. The Bluesy being one of the all time Rolex classics and instantly recognizable anywhere you go. The CHNR with all that chocolate goodness is the new kid in the block and is fast becoming a favorite among Rolex fans. Once again, this is very tough and truly a matter of personal preference. However, if you still can't decide... maybe you want to look the functions of each watch. Ask yourself which you need more. A diving watch or a GMT. I hope this helped and good luck.

Bluesy 100%. You know it will last the test of time.
I have a feeling the CHNR will run out of puff quite quickly. |

Fair enough. Unfortunately, with the effects of the Camp Fire here in the SF Bay Area and Woolsey Fire down south, brown/black for the GMT bezel is more accurate than we'd like.

Technically the GMT’s are not dive watches, they’re ‘professional’ watches and many features of the GMT (any model GMt Master II) are less than desirable if you’re diving. Especially when compared to the Submariner.Like the bi-directional vs uni-directional bezel, the glidelock clasp, and their depth ratings.

I've been wearing a TT Bluesy since late 20s and that is the watch that has gotten more compliments than any other Rolex that I own and I own many of them now. The watch clubs that I am a part of consists of mostly young guys early 20s to early 40s mostly and out of the 30 or so members more than 20 of them have a Bluesy. Its a very very popular watch among the young - this is no way a old mans watch especially with that deep sunburst blue dial. That gives it life and vibrancy more associated with young, active people. |

Both are two of the best TT watches ever. That said if money is of concern I would buy a Bluesy now hands down. The CHNR is still very new and overvalued IMO. Give it a few years and it will command a premium over the Bluesy but not the 4-5 grand it currently does.
For an unworn Bluesy you’re looking at 10,800 best case scenario to almost 12,000. It used to be that you could buy one 24/7 for 10,300-10,500 blue or black. That is no longer the case. The CHNR I’ve seen from 15,800-17,000 with anywhere from 16,000-16,500 being the average price. So if you want to save money buy a new Bluesy. If you want the CHNR and don’t care about paying too much get the GMT.

Super hard call ... both are very impressive. If I had to make it just one, then it would be rootbeer.
I'm still hoping a rootbeer with rootbeer dial comes out soon. |

They are both stunning - personally I would pick the Bluesy as I love the steel, gold and blue combination.

Flashy or not is the question.
I just tried them both on as I really want a gold watch in the collection. I really wanted the bluesy but when the RB came out I waited until I could see one in person. The bluesy really pops. The blue is very vibrant. It you want the watch to blend in a bit the RB is best. They both look awesome but I am going RB. |

Blue sub. yellow gold/ steel is nicer for a guy. The pink gold is more feminine in my opinion.
