This would be immense! I reckon SS Coke on Oyster, not Jubilee. This will be the BLNR replacement. I dont see them issuing both non-black ceramics on Jubilee... it will be BLRO jubilee, NORO (RONO?) on Oyster!

Then we could have a couple of "What's coming next?", "When will the next one come?" and "I am reliably informed that the next...." threads every hour.

Something to look forward to

Milgauss is way overdue for an update. Probably be upgraded to resist 20,000 gauss to put it back in front of the Omega offerings. Upgraded movements across the board.

I'm pretty sure all new GMT line-up with the updated mouvement. I'm very curious about what types of coloring there will be in the bezels and usage of the updated Jubilee bracelet. Return of the Coke?

Maybe a new sub with new mouvement and redesigned case?
Milgauss update or discontinuation?
More Oysterflex on PM sports models?
PM ceramic Daytona?

Now that is something that I'd like to get!

Me, personally, I predict that the BLNR will get the new GMT movement.

Coke on oyster Glidelock please. I know it is zero probability but it is fun to imagine. When it happens, I will need to pickup a Glidelock bracelet as I believe it should be compatible.

Coke on oyster wg.
Sub date in platinum red dial and bezel.
Air-king new dials, old discontinued.
Daytona, ceramic bezels throughout.
Explorer, nothing.
Explorer 2, ceramic bezel.
Some expansion of newer 32xx movements all round.
New model line: office dweller. Exactly like the sub but with more accurate name.

Don't forget the rubberized clasp to protect from keyboard scratches.

I'm doubtful...in order to make a watch that would beat Omega's 15,000 Gauss rating, Rolex would have to follow Omega's lead and create a movement inherently resistant to magnetism. There's no way they would devote so much to developing such a movement solely for the Milgauss, so to make it make sense economically it would have to become their 'standard' movement used in virtually all watches, much like what Omega is doing with their METAS 8800/8900 movements. If that were to happen, the Milgauss would lose its functional identity entirely.

The only way to keep the Milgauss line relevant would be to make further modifications so that its antimagnetic rating would exceed that of the rest of the Rolex line...doubtful anyone would really need such a watch, but the success of the DeepSea and its hilariously-unnecessary-for-something-worn-on-a-human depth rating prove that such an incredible engineering accomplishment is still valued, even if its overkill.

Do we know what the 32xx movement's antimagnetic rating is? The 31xx already had the Parachrom hairspring, and Rolex implies the newer movement increases magnetic resistance by making the escapement out of nickel-phosphorus. However, I've not seen any mention of a gauss-resistance rating. Would simply taking a relatively anti-magnetic movement and casing it up inside iron add to its magnetic resistance in any meaningful way?

Asked another way, is there a way to make the Milgauss more antimagnetic than the 32xx-based watches without completely redoing the movement? If not, is there even a point to the watch any more?

Fair enough. I'll make/add to the same predictions I have in every other Basel '19 thread up to now. (There's been more than one.)

- Better than 50% chance a new Submariner drops. Will be the 12661x, with 3235 movement. Following the pattern of the GMT this year, case refinements will be minimal, and virtually indiscernible from the 11661x series. Because of this, Rolex will put out new metal/color combos, and will not update existing models this year. If this holds true, then updates of existing models will begin in 2020. A red line on black dial will not happen until at least 2028.

- Hulk will be missing from the catalog price list, resuming a frenzy of speculation it has been discontinued, which will endure up until Basel '20, when it actually does get phased out.

- The existing 11671x GMTs will begin to be updated with the 3285. 33% chance BLNR is discontinued outright. 33% chance it will receive new movement and be reissued as the 126710 BLNR. 33% chance it isn't due for any change until a later Basel. 1% chance something else happens I didn't think of.

- Coke fanboys will continue to predict it will happen, only to be as bitterly disappointed as Star Wars fans in the '90s who had faith the Lucas prequels wouldn't suck.

- More DJ combos.

- Rolex will do something else to piss off PM owners.

- Yachtmaster, yadda yadda. (Rolex has no clear idea what that line should look like, so why should I?)

- No new Explorer II until 2021, which will be its 50th anniversary. All Photoshop mockups of a ceramic version between now and then will only serve as big clock-teases for the people dying to see it happen. (See Lucas-prequel simile above.)

- None of the above will be available at ADs before Basel '20, except for the DJs, which will be available at an AD near you beginning March 27, 2019.

- Some newbie will start another Basel '19 thread, claiming this one is tired, and all effort put in here will be buried and forgotten.
I see no reason to post anything on this topic after this fine and comprehensive contribution :)
