I like leather straps, and I think where this falls short is how thin it appears at the lugs. The strap looks to thin compared to proportions of the case...

Doesn't match at all to me....enjoy if you like it; that is what's important. Also, I know most dive watches aren't used for diving, but seems odd to put a leather strap on a watch intended for the water.

Very good point. The super case with thick lugs is a look best suited for the bracelet anything else and it looks off to my eyes, can't say why just doesn't work where a five digit is very flexible.

In this case I think those end links make matters worst.

Wow! I'm sorry but that is a terrible combination. I wouldn't do leather at all, not even black. If you're looking for variety I would do as others have suggested and maybe get their black or green rubber version.

I have a black w/ green VulChromatic RubberB for mine. Although I use it sparingly because I love the Oyster bracelet, it looks great.

I’m all for mixing things up, but normally I’d go with rubber or Nato on a Sub. If you really want leather, the color combo isn’t bad, but I’m not a fan of the end links because, one, I think end links are more appropriate on dress watches (not divers), and, two, they clearly wasn’t designed for the LVc’s lugs.

Wow! OP, sorry you got quite a negative response to your thread!

Maybe its just the light tan colour thats not working?

In theory, theres no reason green & brown shouldnt work well together, they're both 'earth' colours that are found together in nature.

There are examples of other manufacturers have managed to combine the 2 colours successfully. Panerai, Seiko, even Christopher Ward have some nice green/brown combo's

Just my opinion, but that thin light tan strap is kind of cheap looking, even though I know Everest bands are'nt (sorry)

Maybe a more expensve looking darker brown padded aligator style strap might work better?

Exactly my thought and preferably with curved ends and no end links. Save the tan strap for a white dial piece (Explorer II, Daytona, OP), it would dress it up nicely.

I think the watch is too big for the strap. The older subs with narrower lugs can be worn on a strap. The new models with the wide lugs cannot be worn on a strap without looking out of balance. Perhaps, the new Submariner coming out which will have the new movement will also return to the traditional narrow lugs. We probably will know at Basel this year.

Might work better with a black strap. That particular shade of brown just doesn't work to my eyes. Might exchange for a everest rubber strap?

In some ways it's a testament to either the limitation of this green watch or the conditioning of the user base here. Note how the one of the alternatives is the place it on a not so subtle green rubber strap and in some ways it works, because of the color intensity of the watch. I understand the green + brown combination and it can work, in the general populace. It takes an already funky color and makes it funkier. Maybe this is a challenge worth playing with...simply saying the LV only works with a SS bracelet is to deny creativity in this "hobby". So maybe that strap would work better with a Kermit? Other options are black with green stitching, or maybe a distressed brown (assolutamente), slightly darker. Of course you'll want to test it out with cheap straps first. Check out ABP Paris for strap ideas, they have a couple of LVs. Good luck!
