In reality you need to try these on in person. They are all absolutely stunning in the flesh
You really have to try it on in person. Yellow gold looks good on my skin tone Everose does not.

The RG chocolate is sexy... but the RG olive green with deconstructed Roman is simply amazing

Fwiw, olive green is the anniversary dial (60th?)

I bought the diagonal motif because I thought it looked way more sporty than romans and I liked that it was lumed. No matter which you choose you really can’t make an error here. Few notes that influenced my decision. Hope I can be of assistance. :)

* The chocolate is more special to me because this dial is only reserved for the RG versions.
* The Olive green is available in RG, WG and also in Platinum although I never seen anyone buy the platinum version.
* The legibility of both is not the best. They both are difficult to be seen in the night and during the day the legibility is about the same.
* The green dial looks awesome in some light - however I felt that in other lighting conditions it wasn't that flattering.
* The green is not as deep colored as the Hulk green. To some that's good and to others that's bad. Its less in your face.
* The green sunburst is nice but I found it that in direct sunlight the sunburst is not as nice as the chocolate dial
* The choco dial has a deep color and in direct sunlight the sunburst on this thing is crazy. I've never seen chocolate dial sunburst like this before.
* If you already have a Hulk or another green dialed watch then I think having another is probably not a good idea. I would choose the Choco or another dial color.

In the end choose what you love. I ended up trading the Olive dial for a YG DD with Silver Motif dial. I just felt that 2 rose gold DD40s was too much and I badly wanted a YG DD40 as that I honestly believe is the first DD anyone should get is Yellow Gold. Rose Gold can come later as I think long term rose wont stand the test of time.

6) I traded the Olive green for a YG DD40 with Silver Diagonal Motif dial

Gooduck man. Either one is a beautiful watch. Just make sure you consider what you already have in your collection and try not to double up or overlap too much which was my mistake as well. You'll love either one you choose. Cheers
And this for the Y/G

Agreed as IN PERSON the chocolate and ice dial is a winner, plus 20 years from now it'll be fine whereas the striped motifs perhaps not as much imho. Deconstructed is a personal thing, yet looks very disjointed and cluttered. DD40 imho needs a 'clean look' dial as that is classic known good. Less is more.

I always thought I liked the green better but I've never seen one in person. After reading peterpl post it just goes to show that if your making an expensive purchase like that you better look at one, if at all possible in person before you pull the trigger. I was looking through the master catalog at my AD at WG DD40s and the pics do no justice.

It's definitely about seeing these in person. I feel that pics of the olive dial are great, but in person...meh (at least for me!)

It’s weird because Everose looks different under different lighting. Indoors it looks almost yellow but in shade or outside on a cloudy day it’s really a lot more red.

Olive green looks so good. It's the nicest DD available if you ask me.

I'm with you 100% I'm sitting tight for '19, no buying, no selling. Thinking to save some cash for a year and go for a WG40 silver quad roman dial or maybe blue roman ?

If you are 100% on Rose Gold there is no doubt that the 2 most popular dials are Chocolate and Olive.

Pick the one that sings to you most - there is absolutely no wrong answer whatever you choose they are all stunning.

The main thing to me is diversity and I've learnt my lesson in the past regarding this.

(ie) I will never again own 2 watches in my collection with the same dial color.

Get back in the DD40 game. I had a yellow gold black face. I am leaning toward either rose gold now chocolate face or green face. Members opinions on which one and photos please. I really like both but can’t lean towards one or the other more. Both are about the same price. New pieces. Go ! Thanks in advance

Olive Green/RG will go down as the classic combo for the DD40. Book it.

So many great feed backs. I have tried on rose gold before just not these 2. I wore my yellow gold dd40 black motif and I just got tired of it. I do have my lv sub. So maybe the choco is the best way for me to go so I can have more color dials but the olive is awesome. I think I want to by from a non Ad because you can get them so much cheaper. I have a couple of my local watch guys on the hunt for me so it may come down to which ever one comes available first for me to buy and best price. I think that either color dial would be awesome to own. I do not currently have any rose gold in my collection besides my wife’s root beer but I never wear it.

The pop of the olive really can't be beat. I'd take that over diamond markers any day. One you have it on you'll see. Go try both on. I did, no comparison imo.

In the rose gold I prefer the chocolate. In my opinion, the olive dial looks better with the white gold.
