Did they keep the hang tags and the warranty card or just the warranty card. Interesting to know.
I walked with the box, tag and warranty card with my name on it. The manager had to come and take all the protective stickers off. They also have to send the receipt and the warranty card with my name back to Rolex.

LOL...no but we got cookies to celebrate. He is a teen and out of both my sons he is the watch guy. He bought his first automatic swatch about a year ago in green his favorite color, which is why I want the hulk. I have never looked at watches as investment, but something that I can pass down to my sons when they graduate college or grad school in the future.

Anyway, congratulations on the watch and shows a little time and effort pays off!

Yes the process is a bit messed up. Even if you get the call and get there in 15 mins if someone else walks in they can get it before you.

Kind of surprised at the dress level of the AD salesman - may be my ignorance, but every AD I've dealt with was in full suit.
Well it was a female so no suit. The manager was dressed in a suit.

I got that watch from my “TRF AD” nearly 8 years ago before my Son was born. It will be his if he wants it someday.

Enjoy yours!

I went to our local AD (Reed's Jewelry) and of course I decided to get a Rolex at the wrong time based on availability. I was looking for a Sub or GMT. They told me they would take my info and call me when something came in. After reading the forum and talking to some friends I was convinced I wouldn't get the call, but I went by twice to continue building the relationship.

So over the weekend I wanted to go again so I asked my youngest son if he wanted to go to the mall to look at the watches. They had an Explorer that I was considering. I told him we would make up a story about going to GameStop or something...didn't want to seem like a stalker. So as we approached the store I noticed the case has more watches. To my amazement they had a sub w/ date and a GMT. After a couple of photos to the wife I bought the GMT. I would have loved the HULK or Batman, but they seem almost impossible to get at retail and I didn't want to pay a premium.

I didn't get the call because the lady I was dealing with wasn't working that day so I asked how their waitlist works and its a first come first serve basis. Not the best policy if you ask me but it worked in my favor.

Thanks for all the info this forum provides!!!

Wow, congrats. It was meant to be. A little disappointing to hear they didn't call you, but in the end you got the watch you wanted.
