I also purchased the reissued 806 in the US after it was announced. My dealer told me 300 were shipping to the US... different from what others have said, but consistent with a low number.

I guess these will end up on the secondary market, no idea whether at a premium or a discount. But I had been searching for an original, pristine example of this watch for years and now am really excited to have the modern reissue that I can wear.

Same here although I was looking for a modern navitimer as my second entry into Breitling nothing sang to me. After 2 years of looking I was about switch up and go with a PAM 233 instead, then this model came out. Being limited production I hope it doesn’t drop 30% in value when I leave the store. A major factor in why I have stuck with Rolex for many years.

My dealer just called me to inform me that the previously quoted 15% discount is not possible as this piece is sold out and he offered the discount by mistake without checking with the brand. I told him that I am still interested to continue the purchase despite the discount removal. Hope I am not taking the wrong decision.

I think your AD is giving you a line of BS. When your AD orders the watch, it is shipped to your AD with an invoice for the wholesale price. What your AD sells it for is strictly between the AD and the customer. Breitling doesn't come in and audit it's AD's sales. So long as it's wholesale invoice is paid it doesn't concern itself with the final price to the customer. I think your AD is using Breitling as an excuse to cancel the deal he originally offered you by blaming Breitling.

New Breitling Navitimer Re-Edition

I didn’t get a discount, just happy enough to get a piece. I’m really looking forward to it.

I had been looking for a modern Navitimer for the longest time but they all looked odd to me in terms of proportions, and couldn’t settle on any. I ended up getting a vintage 60s Navitimer and got hooked on the vintage look. This re-edition is going to be even nicer with the beaded bezel!

Here’s a picture of my 60s Navitimer that has the conventional (later style) bezel.

Look at how the dial is flat all the way to the edge and is practically at bezel level. The crystal is actually domed to clear the hands.

It looks wonderful in real life. Pictures can’t show the effect of the upfront dial.

Agreed. If you're buying to flip, maybe/maybe not... But for me, the 806 is probably my favorite chronograph and so it was a no brainer to pick one up. Great aesthetics, superb modern movement.

There’s no way that I’ll be having any buyers remorse because I have the 1966 version which has essentially the same proportions and have been wanting a pre-1960 for the longest time but never found a good example at the right price. Judging by the photos of this faithful reproduction next to its vintage brethren, this is what I’ve been waiting for and suits me perfectly.

I’ve been told summer which would be about 8 weeks out as well. What are everyone’s thoughts on the band? If there was one thing I would change it would be to replace the buckle with deployant and change the leather strap w croc.

I personally think the pin buckle is nicer on this watch than a deployant. The simplicity suits it better. Deployant is too much. I'm not sure about the weight of the re-edition, but my vintage one is so feather light, that a deployant would feel weird. I also think croc/alligator is too dressy for it.

I typically buy a daily strap that I wear with these types of watches to preserve the original. In this case, I'll probably put this on a vintage-aged black leather strap with tang buckle. Agreed that a deployant seems a bit formal.

When I had my B01 first thing I did was remove the croc and deployant for a calf and pin buckle. I generally prefer pin over deployant.

This is a good idea. Which brand do you use?

I can’t tell - Is the entire case brushed or are some areas polished?

Only the sides are brushed. Lug tops are polished.

There are lots of choices out there. It’s a 22/18 strap.

Some live wrist views of the watch for those who haven't seen it yet. My AD promised me that I'll be getting one - definitely excited for it!

Can’t sleep - What’s everyone hearing about availability on these? Any new AD rumors that we can spread as fact?

Have tried your AD yet? I placed my deposit right after Basel and have been told July delivery.

I secured mine already and have a summer delivery. Just curious if they are still available?

It’s certainly a strong piece. I have a number of Navitimers but this one has real character.

My AD also said late June/early July delivery is expected. My AD said he was only being allocated 1 of these, so availability may depend on your AD.

Put my name on the list a couple of weeks ago at the Breitling Boutique in Vienna.
They asked for a 2200 euro deposit.
After that that I've received the message: Congratulations one of those masterpieces will be yours!
Delivery is expected in June.

Stopped by my AD today, no word yet on the arrival of the 1959 re-issue, still expected late June/July sometime he said.

However, I didn't leave empty handed, picked up the Breitling Bentley Premier Chrono....
