A good polish by an experienced watchmaker should be able to resolve this

Not as much as you might think vs. other options which likely won't make you as happy. But if you want to do it through Rolex, you'll probably have to trade yours in and they will only sell what you have on the watch-(two-tone.) Give them a call.

I’d say leave it alone. You’ll probably scratch it just as badly the day after you have it polished. It will pick up more micro scratches in time and that first scratch will blend in, becoming less noticeable. Then when it is finally due a service, you’ll get a watch back that looks immaculate.
I tore a chunk out of one of the links on my AK carrying my skis in February and the damage was so bad that the link would catch on clothing. The lugs also took a serious beating where the skis rubbed against them. I sent the watch to an RSC who replaced the link and lightly polished up the rest of the bracelet, however asked that they did not touch the case. I got the watch back two weeks ago and scratched the clasp last night washing a cooking pot (Grrrrrr). I am going to live with this one till it needs a service. |

Yeah the first scratch/ding/nick is the worst. It may annoy you, but take Buddha’s approach here and rise above it: from experience, you’l only make it worse like I did to my 16710

I’d run to my AD and have that polished out. That would bug the hell out of me. Good luck!

What a bummer.
Been after a TT Sub for years and recently been looking seriously. I was wondering if the non gold through the clasp (Older Model) is the way to go. Although i do like the gold right through. |

You will laugh a week from now when it doesn’t jump out so much. This is true to case dings, bezel marks too. |

I would take it to someone that know what they are doing and have them do the best they can without taking all of the metal off. Why wait? The service will do the same thing. I would get it taken care of.

Leave it. That’s an easy fix if you so ever choose to have that touched up

That sheet metal may have slit your wrist instead. I say wear the watch with pride and remember the incident fondly whenever you see the scratch!

Been there but I accepted scratches on the band or bezel versus the crystal......Character!

I feel your pain but, like others have said, its easy to get OCD over scratches. Just leave it and forget it, nobody, including you quite soon, will notice this, as more swirling, knocks and marks appear. My usual rule of thumb is: leave as is for 2 years, then cape code...
