Nice shot...But yes....SS does look like WG, and reverse. There is no perceptible difference between my SS DJ41 and my WG DD40 blue. The only reason anyone would even notice the difference between those two watches, from 5 feet away, is that one has the day on it. And they wouldn't see that from 5 feet away.

If people are concerned that their white gold looks too much like SS, get yellow gold. Nobody outside this forum can tell the difference. The point of buying white gold is you don't CARE if anyone else knows if it's gold or not.

I'm a huge fan of the white gold DD40 with olive dial but it's true that 99% of the general public will not be able to tell it's a PM.

The average person on the street that is not familiar with WG will think it’s SS....

I don’t care to get involved in the white gold vs. ss debate. What I do care about is that green dial - I love it!

In my opinion to the casual observer it does look as an SS, that is exactly why I purchased a WG.
What I loved of this watch is the multitude of silverish colors and textures, on the flesh usually the brushed links looks champagne to me but is harder to see in the photos.

There is absolutely a difference, but only in certain lighting. If you’re hoping people will notice your watch is solid gold, stay away from WG. If you like the luster/exclusivity/weight/blah blah and don’t care what people think because it’s your watch, and FYI no one else really cares anyways...buy a WG piece.

Well with the current market, WG prices look like SS prices anyway.

WG looks like SS.. ha!

WG vs Platinum, steel sits somewhere in between them - whiter, more reflective and more brilliance than WG but less so that platinum. The individual should decide which look they prefer as I can see an argument for them all! Only WG has that soft rich warmth whilst platinum has the intense brilliance which is so crisp.

IMO, WG passes as SS to the non WIS. This is one reason I like WG! I actually prefer YG or RG depending on the watch but I like how WG flies under the radar. I now have a few WG pieces. Pick one up and you’ll know quickly it isn’t SS. I like wearing the WG to work. It’s strange that I like knowing most other people have no idea I’m wearing an 18kt gold watch.

I'm particularly enjoying the " I wear a WG dd40 so I fly under the radar".......

There is NOTHING under the radar about any fluted bezel Rolex. I don't care if its made out of aluminum. You're kidding yourself if you believe that.

It's less flashy than YG but I agree with you on that.
