My multiple time zone capable watches include a GMT Master BLNR, Explorer II Polar 42 mm, and a stainless steel Sky-Dweller. My go to travel watch is the BLNR.
I would add the new "Pepsi" GMT Master to the group when I can as I think it is significantly different enough to the BLNR to have a place in my collection. I love wearing the Sky-Dweller, but as I am 50 years old, I honestly have a hard time reading the central GMT ring. It's nice to know it's there, I guess.

What are your GMT Alternatives? ..
I have a Submariner 116610LN and Speedmaster along with a G-Shock for beating on.
I think the JLC Reverso Medium Duoface Small Seconds (2458420) would be a nice addition as both a GMT and dress watch that isn't too dressy to wear casually on occasion. |

Love that Breitling. I wouldn't mind a Navitimer GMT. It looks impressive but I worry that it would be too busy to read easily. A bit like the Daytona (for me) - achingly beautiful and desirable, but difficult to read, which kind of defeats the object.

I have found the to be tough, accurate, well made watches and great value for money. For £400+ I think it’s a pretty good GMT alternative. I get that there will be many who find it a too close an homage though. To each his own I guess. |

Personally if BLRO was my dream watch I would find anything other than a Tudor GMT too disappointing to spend money on. For starters the watches are clearly siblings, while any other look-alike is simply an imitation from outside the family. In addition, both watches are trying to say something slightly different so I would not mind owning both. Compare the jubilee bracelet, cyclops, and the more refined profile for the BLRO to the bolder but clunkier profile of the Tudor GMT. I also find the clean crystal and bezel font to be a more refined than the BLRO. |

the shape + height of the case is a turn off to me. and the bezel is nowhere close to smooth compared to the rolex bezel .. so for the almost $4k that the tudor costs, i think they should have made a better watch. |

I have the Polar Explorer II as well as the now discontinued Black GMT Master II. My favorite to wear? The Polar Exp II! I love the white dial and contrast with the orange second hand. I love the brushed steel bracelet. Admittedly, I wish it was 40mm instead of 42mm, but the 42 is still different. It gets comments all the time from most people, while the GMT does not. I love the watch and wear it for global travel. Tracking two time zones works pretty well nearly all of the time. When I switch back to a black dialed watch, I more frequently go to my Sub No Date. I truly enjoy all three, but you can actually GET the Polar Explorer II at retail right now (with some work), and thoroughly enjoy it. If I were to add another to the stable right now, then I would add the Tudor Pepsi because I think it is exceptional in it’s own right. We live in a world of great options.

I have one and am impressed with it. The bracelet even has a tool free microadjustment. The only thing I do not like is it wears a little large and I have a small wrist. For me, 39mm would be perfect.

Sometimes that you might want to consider is an Alpina Alpiner 4 GMT. I bought one to wear when I want to be more discrete and I found out that I like it a lot. Well built and different, it’s not a Rolex but it feels pretty good on the wrist. And apparently you can get them at really nice price.
Just another suggestion... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have a 216570 black dial and I really like it - it doesn't stand out too much and was a great price compared to the prices of the GMT masters now.
I also have a Squale GMT tropic, which is a piece of shit. (see Gnomon watches) Mainly because of the ETA 2893-2 - it's accurate, but is awful to adjust. I travel a lot so quick timezone adjustment is necessary - however on the 2893 1st position is wind, 2nd is GMT hand setting (one direction) and date setting (other direction) and the third position is used to adjust the main hands. Because of this, if you change time zones, you end up having to set the local time and GMT time again, and if you're really lucky, you'll accidentally change the date too and have to set that. Reliable movement, but an arse to set. Avoid the ETA would be my comment :) |
