I have a Gmt IIc and i dont wear it in gym cause i think that this watch is not designed for that use (due to the ceramic bezel and the polished links i think that it 's not for hard use)..
On the other hand if i had a Sub or a SD (i intend to buy one of them), i would absolutely wear it everywhere! |

why not? it helps keep an awareness on what you're wearing on yo wrist. lollol I've been wearing my z series SD for every single workout for the past 2 years and not a single scratch on it.

No,
Plan A= If the gym has safety lockers covered with CCTV its gets locked up in them. Plan B = If not it gets locked up in the Club's manager's office.........I work for a Gym chain so fortunately have option B. The watch to wear when working out (Weights, Cardio or Group Exercise) is the Polar RS800 IMO........that’s what I wear to monitor Exercise intensity while having zero concerns of knocks. |

I never take mine off at the gym unless I'm doing wrist curls, because I need it for timing intervals between sets. It never gets banged around, never gets in the way and doesn't keep me from getting a good workout.

does one really need a watch at the gym? i lift weights, and i don't like the feeling of having a watch on while doing so. i wouldn't worry about breaking it though. in my 5 yrs of lifting i've never dropped a weight on my wrist or anything.
my gym also has clocks on the wall, so that helps. |

Always on my wrist. In the gym, surfing, swimming, jogging - at least one or a combination of these activities daily with no problem whatsoever.

I've never seen the "ceramic crack bezel issue". However I switch my GMT IIC for a more functional G-SHOCK when going to the gym.

Sea Master makes a better application
Only wore it once or twice when I hit the gym right after work.
Usualy I use my omega seamaster for the gym because its 7 years old and a little banged up anyway. |

About 18 in., but the trick is to measure after a workout when ya got some blood in there. After all, how impressive can it be to measure some cold, unpumped, limp muscle anyway?
And the Rolex in that pic has made it through more workouts than I can remember and held up better than me. |

I personally think wearing a Rolex during a workout is a good way to put premature stress on the bracelet and pins - especially if you have it properly sized.

I have to know, how would one crack a bezel working out/training/ect?If anything,I think if you were doing curls or some type of workout like that the watch would get in the way.

always a digital watch of some sort. at the moment i use a G-Shock.
does anyone use Power Plate* at the gym? was wondering the other day if it'd have any impact on those complicated and more expensive quartz/automatic watches? * - it is a wonderful thing. it helps you to recover faster and message after an intense workout. |

No, if I wear a watch it is during training and I wear a Suunto T4 with a heart rate monitor. All of my Rolex watches have been great but they do nothing to tell me when my bod is getting ready to go anaerobic. And even then the watch is not on my wrist, it is fitted to my handlebars on my road bike with a special adapter so I can monitor myself without crashing.

I wouldnt worry about breaking it unless you are doing some crazy workouts. Just be aware of your surroundings and calculate your arm movements so that you do not accidently bang your Rolex into any of the equipment at the gym.
I personally prefer not to wear any watch when working out so that there is no obstruction when using free weights or a machine. I'd rather concentrate on reps and form than have to worry about the interference of my watch with my workout. But then again depends on the workout; treadmill, leg machines and climbing machines are a diff story.... -Frankie |
