As the prices rise, fewer people can afford them, so eventually people get priced out of the market and our old friend supply & demand comes along, and prices fall again to a more reasonable level. It's just hard to know exactly where that point is, but it is impacted by other things. Why buy a Hulk if you could buy a Daytona for a few thousand more? Or if not a Daytona then a Pepsi? These things all factor into each other, but it's not unlimited. I suspect that the Hulk has benefitted from the constant & endless rumors of it being discontinued, therefore FOMO & speculators are constantly trying to time the market or get in while they still can. Do people even LIKE the green that much? I mean of all colors - it was cool as an accent on the GMT master, but all green? I'm not really that crazy about it. |

And yet it's still an unattractive watch to me lol
More than anything, its just sort of sad how speculative considerations seem to be at the forefront of everyones’ minds these days |

The hulk has the potential to hit £20k within a year. This is a new era for mechanical watches, I'm not saying they can't come down one day, but the curve is still heading north for now.

I was lucky enough to get one at retail from my AD. Yes I've bought many watches from them and "earned" it with my loyalty. Nevertheless I am thrilled that I got one.

I would make a bet that it gonna be discontinued at Basel 2020! Rumors will grow earlier than that....

I think the price will keep going up until it’s discontinued and then all the safe queens and speculators will flood the market with LNIB examples and the price will come back to sanity pretty quick.
But my guess is as good as the next person. |

I absolutely love my Hulk, would not sell it irrespective of any price. Best sub in my opinion. Will the price go up even more? Most probably, but if you buy the watch because you love it, then why sell it. Even if the price of the hulk dropped to below retail wouldn't mean anything to me. I also think it will be discontinued in 2020 and it will feel even better wearing a discontinued Hulk.

Saw a hulk in the wild last week. Absolutely killer piece. Can’t see this ever reducing in value, only going to go up as stocks diminish and it eventually gets discontinued probably next year or thereabouts

Whoever owns one is always going to wish it continues to rise. For everyone else who cares?
Ive said this 1000s of times now NOTHING and i mean NOTHING rises continuously forever without having some kind of pullback. Everything in life is cyclical. |

The Rolex market is now a game of the greater fool theory. Eventually, the house or cards will collapse. Never liked the hulk at MSRP, at close to $20k it’s simply comical. A couple years ago a flat-4 Kermit was $17k and I thought that was ridiculous...

I just paid list price at my AD last week after waiting a month. I’ll never sell my Hulk. My AD said when they got one in they checked their receipts and I was called first because I was their best customer.

Can't happen like that, greys will not flood the market ever, they will release them piecemeal even if a bunch of safe queens are sold to them, to keep up the scarcity and price, and those that sell them privately will still ask top dollar as well as that is why they are selling them.

Why would they discontinue it? Sells well enough by the looks of it. Or do you mean they’ll pseudo discontinue it and just change the movement? The suspicion is a lot of these posts are less neutral interest, and more active hyping. Does anybody other than owners want to see prices going up?

Geez, these prices are outrageous. I've not been keeping up to date with the price trend but I'm damn glad I got my 16610LV F series at the original $4875 retail. The Hulk was derived from the original LV. My AD said they used to sit forever and it was a niche market. Not anymore.
