Yes, two different watches, at least to the WIS.
Submariner. Or Submariner Date.

If you couldn't have a Submariner, what would be your next choice?

Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, blue on sail cloth strap.

And if I’m feeling fancy, the same reference in rose.

To be honest at the time this was the first non Rolex watch I’d ever consider buying. Pictures do no justice. It almost left on my wrist.

Well I think the idea of the thread was if you couldn't get a Rolex Submariner so....

That color is simply amazing though. Tudor would sell the HELL out of these if they put a new blue Sub out.

I live the triangular markers so much too. It's just a beautiful piece.

Tried the new 300 on. I had the old one before I went to Submariner. Have to say it feels a lot closer now in terms of build quality. The only thing that puts me off is there are many versions of it, grey dial, rubber straps, two tone..I liked it more when it was just one model

I hope to NEVER give up wearing a sub. I’m not sure I could ever find any watch that satisfies as much - for me. It’s been my daily in one form or another since 2003.

Staying within the Rolex line, I’d probably lean towards a GMT, but I don’t want to...

Cheap just under £1000 holiday watch I bought and I’m not joking one of the most comfortable, reliable and nice looking watches I’ve had.

Apart from my bias I do love the Omega Seamaster 300 right now.

I came from tokyo to buy a divers watch.

I have a 16610 and would like to see if the GS diver in titanium and the new smp 300 is really better than the rolex as reviews say it is.

So I brought my 16610 and went to the omega and GS AD in the ginza district.

Yep both seem to be a level higher than the 16610 which I was wearing.

I looked at the smp 300 in black blue and silver dial and the rubber strap combos and I rate the black better than the blue and then silver dial last.

The GS divers is another story, the AD in ginza had me try both the titanium GS and the SS. The titanium was lighter and has gold GS in the dial. I like the GS titanium better.

Went back and fourth and by the end of the day I was wearing a SMP 300 in black.

Yes its better than the 16610, looks build quality, bracelet, etc etc. So this will be my sub for awhile but wont let go of the 16610 which now looks so plain compared to the SMP 300 and the GS.

If you like the sub please buy one even though its more expensive since watch purchase is and should always be what you want in your heart and not who tells you this or that is better. Its so available in Japan but not in the ADs.

For me, the new smp 300 looks better than the new ceramic sub and way better than the old sub.

Good luck

Whoops, I meant the Sub does have a better water rating at 300 meters. Sorry bout that.
