Get her an engagement ring.

Rolex is brilliant. They have created a market where if an SS makes an appearance from the back you wouldn’t dare not handing over your cash.

Congrats to the OP on an awesome score! Enjoy in good health.

Hi,

They keep the card for 12 months. You get a photocopy of it though....

Congrats - terrific watch.

Now, all of you others on this forum that were waiting on the list can call the AD upset you didn’t get the call and they sold to a walk in.

When I posted my BLRO arrival thread back in April, the store manager told me how much grief he got for me saying they sold me that BLRO, even though I was the boutique’s first customer and therefore was first on the BLRO and Daytona Lists. Must have been a high spender who had been promised the next BLRO.

I say good fortune to you!

I’d agree with this had I gone in and asked for a hulk and she pulled this out and I bought it regardless, however I specifically went in to tell her I was no longer interested in the Daytona (I had put my name down when buying the CHNR) , and told her I was more interested in the BLNR or BLRO. The rest is history!

Ok, so I think this would be a little harsh on the AD.

She explained to me that the group actually don’t have “lists”, you register your interest.

If a watch comes in the sales rep makes the decision as to who they want to get the watch, however it’s strictly regulated as to who they can sell to (I.e you need to have a purchase history), and this is checked by Head Office. This is to stop it going out the back door to greys.

You’re also not allowed to buy two of the same watch from this group either. When I say same, I mean exactly the same. Different dial/metal would count as different.

It’s funny you mention you were on a daytona list but confirmed in the BLNR transaction that a list didn’t exist (as you bought it immediately without waiting). So I wonder if you had remained on the daytona ‘list’ if anything would have ever materialised. I suppose if it was that easy the ceramic Daytona’s in Bond Street around the corner wouldn’t be selling for £20,000

More than lucky, he's a return customer. The outcome is satisfactory for both him and the AD. Win-win all the way.

As I say, it's not so much a list like;

1. Mr Bloggs
2. Mrs Appleby
3. Mr Jones

And they work from top to bottom, it's called a "registration of interest". You're letting the SA know you're interested in buying a specific watch, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're ever going to get it.
