Out of what I’ve owned or currently own, easily my 16610. It’s basically all I wear anyway

My Datejust 16234 of 36mm.
It's not the best, nor the most expensive I have, but it's by far the one I use the most.

I thought about my 116234 DJ 36 with white index dial and fluted bezel on Jubilee. Then I thought about the 214270 that many others have picked and then I realized that they get wrist time but none as much as my GS GMT. So I suppose it would have to be the latter.

116500

And ironically, I sold mine! Against the 116519 as part of a collection, the 116500 was outclassed so got sold.

But one watch and one watch only, the 116500 wins easy for me.

Come to think of it, it will be my GMT IIc LN. However, just one watch for rest of my life will never happen.

You're on a Rolex enthusiast's forum, and you take issue with people using reference #'s?

Most of these watches have been in continuous production for 50+ years, and range greatly in metal, dial color, form and function. You can always use Google if you become confused.

Half the reason I click on the WRUW threads is to see Dr. Robert's 1655 Explorer II. I love that watch.

If I could only keep one for all time, it would be my YG GMT (Green Dial).

I wish I could remember model numbers.
I can’t.

Sky Dweller would be mine.

Yachtmaster Oysterflex would be my wife’s pick.

She also has a date, and I have a submariner

Having a ND Sub and a DJ 41 SS, silver dial, domed bezel on an oyster bracelet, I would go with the latter one. The perfect watch, very simple, classy and versatile.

For me it was the Submariner 114060 (No Date Ceramic), but it switched to the Sea-Dweller 116600 because of the small details. Everyone mentions lug width, but it’s also crown guard thickness. The raised crystal and typefaces for “ft” and “m” along others. I think it’s a near perfect modern Rolex excepting only the end links which I’ve forgiven. It’s been a daily wear and can take a beating because it’s like a tank and it goes with anything in almost any situation. If I had to choose, it’s the one watch I’d wear for the rest of my life. Thankfully, I don’t have to choose just one!

Great choice! I have yet to see one in person so I can see size, but it looks like a winner.

Great piece! I still haven’t seen the Black Bay 58 in person, but the videos of it look spectacular!

Great choice! Watching talking watches with Roger Smith on HODINKEE and listening to him when he talks about the Explorer made me want to run out and buy one.

One watch only? I decided to go that route recently, and ended up with this after visiting a few other watches.
