I see people at Lifetime wearing rolexes all the time, I have no idea why. I just lock mine in my car dashboard drawer.

I never take it off to put it in gym locker or leave in car. It is MUCH safer on your wrist.

I wear my watch to the gym quite often, but with the recent prices of the Batman I have been leaving it in the car. It does bother my hand while doing pushups. When I got my Sky Dweller I decided not to wear it to the gym. I think having an accurate heart rate monitor would be a great gadget.

Changing plates, pull-ups, too many things could go wrong. My forearms get scratched up from ring dips so no way would I wear a decent watch.

Used to wear my DSSD, Exp II or Pelagos whilst playing badminton. And I used to wear my Sub 114060 and Sinn U1 in the gym. I’m a bit more careful of my watches now.

I just wear my Apple watch or one of my Casio's at the gym. For me it's not a matter of "Is it safe...", but a matter of comfort/preference.

Now if I'm on a business trip or on vacation, I would definitely not leave a Rolex in the hotel room. In that particular case I would just wear it at the gym.

Worst case (if it's not comfortable, particularly for heavier gold pieces) I would put it in a watch case or travel pouch and keep it on me during my workout.

I wear my G-shock for the gym. Much more versatile and comfortable to wear when doing barbell and Dbell exercises. Wore my Sub for a while but the nature of the metal strap and lack of alarm detracted from my workout.

My 14060m is my dedicated gym watch for the last 10+ years.(mostly free weights) No problems, no dings or deep scratches, bezel is 100%. Just wear it tight. In fact still looks newer/less scratched them my wifes 9 month old DJ.

I try not to wear a nice watch in the gym. However, the one place where I feel a Rolex is less safe than a gym is in a gym locker.

Gym lockers only keep honest people out.

I try not to bring a nice watch to the gym, if I do, I will work out in it but will adjust my workout accordingly. Will only use machines and cardio. No free weights nor will I even look at a kettlebell. Imagine doing one kettlebell snatch with a watch on...cracked crystal.

Yes. I'm in my late 50s. The clocks on the walls are too far away and I don't want to damage the Variluxes . . . .

Rolex stays at home on gym days - I've seen too many sad news stories of stolen ones, and I wouldn't want to be worrying about banging it during a workout. G-Shock every time, I need the stopwatch anyway!

I would never wear my watch to the gym. I accidentally was wearing it a few times and just hid it somewhere in my car where someone wouldn't be able to find it. With the intensity of my training I could make a stupid mistake and bang the crystal up on some weights. Its honestly the only place I don't think I wear my watch.

I imagine wearing your Rolex while weightlifting is (ironically) a good way to keep your form in check, weight-wise.

If you're worried about anything slipping past your wrist, your form is off.

Home first before gym so no.

The amount of sweat, and potential to bang the watch, why take the chance.

There is a guy, a physician, who wears a Cellini at my gym....

Wouldn't you be terrified to have it stolen from your locker when you NEED to take it off?

I hit the gym daily and never wear a watch...I am there to work out! One less thing to worry about getting accidentally abused (why not avoid it if possible).

A buddy of mine (much older 40+ yrs) USE to wear his Rolex daily to the gym until I helped him buy a new 116610LN. He NEVER wears it to the gym now. His old sub was from the 80's.....

I have worn fine watches to the gym but personally I see reason to and do not do so anymore. Doesn't really have a function...Wait, you're seriously timing your sets with your Sub's bezel? The risk of damage isn't as high as many would think but what's the point? Personally, I hate the feeling of metal against my wrist when damp/sweaty.

I would rather hide it in my car. Because people will see it at the gym and maybe follow you afterwards to mug you.

Quite a variety of Gyms posted so far.

Everything from Gyms where you may get mugged, to Gyms where most of the clientele are wearing gold Pateks / Rolex.

Usual TRF...... Ask a question and receive every possible option as a reply.
