Firstly, I don’t think it is acceptable that this happened. Did you read/see my first post.

But in addressing the post you have quoted, you seem to have misunderstood me. Wear is not damage, scratches are damage. And that is the point was making. But since you bring it up, wearing the watch five times (doesn’t matter that it’s in your house) makes it a worn watch, and not a brand new watch.

As for where I got the info from; the fact that it was sent for a warranty repair means you have worn the watch.

Back to my first question, do you have more than your ADs word that it was repaired by RSC?

All good yes I did.

Yes I spoke with RSC directly.

I will pass on any solution that includes polishing. If they don’t offer a knew caseback with the same engraving I guess I have a nice scratch on my new watch!

The shoes are worse than the scratch....

But yeah, it would also bother me, but if you saw the state of some of my watches I think a person like you would have a heart attack.

What "should" happen here, and what "needs" to happen here, is that someone --either the RSC or the actual person who did the damage -- should be held financially responsible. If nothing else, just to teach them a lesson about proper handling of watches -- and also for not taking responsibility as they should.

Tudor "should" manufacture a NEW case-back with the same number, of course destroying the old one.

You as a victim of carelessness and a "We don't give a crap about scratching up your watch" bad attitude, you deserve nothing less.

Poor QC, very disappointing, but I would leave it as it is.

Craig, that looks like vandalism. lol. What does one have to accidentally do to achieve a pattern that deep? Return the watch for a full refund.

Good news update!

After 10 weeks, the watch sent and returned from the mothership with a new case back!

Happy with the resolution!

How on earth did someone even manage that! Would be next to impossible to do that with a Rolex case back tool I have as there’s nothing protruding to scratch it. Almost looks like someone just drove a screwdriver across it.

At least it’s sorted.

I don’t know if I’d be ‘crushed’ but I do try & tell myself everything happens for a reason. It could have been if you were wearing the watch a few weeks ago you’d have bashed it real hard or something. At least that’s what I tell myself as it makes scenarios like this easier.

It’s the low res picture because Tapatalk doesn’t allow high res uploads unless you pay for VIP access. And that $12 per year sub eats into my watch budget lmao

Accidents happen. It's how they are corrected that makes the difference. It should have never been returned to you with that scratch but in the end they did the right thing. Lot of companies would have done nothing and said in so many words, too bad. Glad there was a positive outcome.
