I’m not even sure what this thread is about anymore ... the fact that Lebron was turned down, whether we like the rainbow Daytona, or silly nicknames. The only thing we haven’t covered is the gray market price and future investment value ... I’m Sure we’ll get there

Pretty sure NO AD would turn down business from Lebron.

It is not about turning down LaBron James as much as it is about the availability of the watch. I would be surprised if the AD had one sitting around and whoever gets the watch could be enriched by 150K the minute they walk out of the store and decided to flip the watch. I would assume Mr. James can get whatever he wants watch wise and money is not an object. He has a nice collection based on what I have seen him wearing. He sported a Rolex DD II for awhile that I liked.

Hodinkee article from April 2018 quotes $97k for the 116595RBOW, but I saw one in the metal not long ago and remember the tag saying something closer to $110k. Stunning watch.

The biggest question is what is Lebron doing in Orlando if hes not playing the Magic...

If Lebron James eventually gets a Rainbow Daytona do you think that watches market value will go up or down?

Maybe this a patented LJ passive-aggressive way to get AD to give him his!

When I first saw the rainbow Daytona I had the same opinion about it as the leopard Daytona but the rainbow would look nice as a ladies watch.

They weren't all that popular until all of a sudden people found out the production numbers were low and influences made it the hot watch to have. No way that watch takes 2 years to make unless the jewel setter is blind and missing a few limbs.

The hype is far too great on many models right now but I think this one takes the cake. Wonder if we'll be looking back a decade from now laughing at people paying hundreds of thousands plus for bright red RMs, rainbow daytonas, etc.
