Huge congrats! I’m itching for a DD40 but I’m just not ready for it yet. I hope to experience that feeling one day when I get mine! The ultimate grail Rolex for me.

I also think the black motif is one of the best dial options for the DD40, excellent choice!!

It looks great indeed. Since I was wearing Rolexes well before adjustable bracelets I find with my DD40 that I set it a touch loose and if it tightens up in hot humid weather it isn’t a big deal. In fact I never even use the Easylink or Glidelock on my other watches.

Great choice. A YG President DayDate has been my daily wear for about 40 years. Wear it with pride.

I want to reply to everyone but it would get a bit unwieldly at the moment! Thanks to all for the congratulations!

There is something undoubtedly majestic about wearing a DD. Yes, the Platinum models are more expensive, but gold just feels more traditional and is the true historic flagship of the Rolex lineup. There is an almost invincible feeling about having a solid hunk of gold on the wrist.

I have considered the 36mm version, and simply put, I'm not a huge fan of the dial choices on the 36s. The head up wristshots seem to exaggerate the size of the 40mm. If they expanded the 36mm selection to dials I like, I'd actually consider downsizing one day (much like how after Basel 2019, I am giving the SS DJ36 a closer look now with the refreshed movement and dials.)

The AD in Wailea, Maui slipped one of those on my wrist a few weeks ago and I was honestly a bit starstruck... What a beautiful watch.
